He’s a teenager and he’s intelligent, but he doesn’t have many friends. He lives with his Aunt May in New York. Peter Parker is a very ordinary teenage boy, but then his life changes. He becomes Spider-Man after a radioactive spider bites him. Then he discovers he has very special powers – he is very strong and can run really fast. He can climb the walls of tall buildings. He can’t fly but he can jump from building to building with spider webs and he can see in the dark. He protects the city of New York against crime. I love Superman! He’s the first American superhero and he’s my favourite! He’s from the Planet Krypton, and his real name is Clark Kent. Clark Kent is a journalist for a newspaper but he has special powers and becomes Superman when there is danger. He’s very strong – his superpowers come from the sun. He can fly very fast and can jump onto tall buildings. He can also see very well – he can see through walls with his X-ray vision and he can see in the dark.

I really like the Superman films, but I prefer the TV programme Smallville. It’s about Clark Kent when he is a teenager and he discovers his superpowers. Tom Welling is Superman in the series and he’s brilliant. Megan, 14
