JAM[S L. MILBURN

It is with great pleasure, and a deep feeling of gratitude and respect that we, the Staff of the Champion of 1942, dedicate this volume to our friend ond counsellor, James L. Milburn, who during the twelve years as head of the Print ing Department, has made himself a very vital part of the life of Central. ... His keen sense of humor, his genial, friendly manner, his consideration for the student's point of view, and his willingness, whenever the occasion arises, to work for the very best interest of Central have endeared him o the students of Central High. THE CLASS OF '42 AT WORK AND PLAY * Through these years that have passed on the swiftest of feel We have loved all the moments, the bitter, the sweet. All our teachers have taught us our lessons each day, And we've learned how to work with our comrades and ploy.

We have laughed, we hove lived in this school that we love; We have studied from Fresh-hood through three years above. All our lime has been crowded with days that are dear: We recall now at parting the things we would hear.

Just remember the g~mes where we yelled out so free When we cheered on our team to a big victory, When we thrilled to the drama our seniors portrayed, All of these are our memories that never shall fade.

When the news of the war had invaded our land, Then we calmly proceeded as was our commond, Fo r the services here were the best we could do And we sang at our party of red, while, and blue.

Then our Mister and Miss Central ruled Senior Day, And we next placed the crown on our Queen of the May,

And we recognized seniors for outstanding merit, Though we've ioy or we've troubles, we've learned how to share it.

Through these years that have passed on the swiftest of feet, We have loved every moment, the bitter, the sweet.

They have given us courage to hope ond to sing

No maHer what trials our lifetime may bring. -JEANNE LEAVITT.
