Trust is when your brain can be put at ease and depend on your lover’s NEW: Log on to http:// arms to catch you when you fall backwards into their em- SutherlandLoveDoctor.tumblr.com/ to read the brace. But faith… faith is something different entirely. Dr's advice that didn't make it in to the paper! Faith is when you truly believe in your relationship, and you are willing to put your heart on the line for it. Faith is when you believe in, not only your partner’s conscious desires, but their unconscious desires as well. Faith is love.

So, how can you put faith in your relationship? Well, it’s not easy, it is not without sacrifice, and it is not even al- ways possible. Sometimes, your brain will want to put faith in your relationship, but your heart will not allow it – those relationships will not last. Jealousy and faith can- not co-exist. There is no compromise between jealousy and faith. In order to have faith in your love, you must banish your jealousy.

And really, what reason have you to be jealous? You say she has told you that she has no feelings for him, but you say, “it doesn’t seem like that’s the case.” I can tell you from experience that it is entirely possible that that is, indeed, the case. How can I say this with such certainty? Because I have been the other boy. I have watched my best friend’s boyfriend’s faith in their relationship cor- roded by his jealousy of my friendship with her. And I can tell you, with utmost sincerity and truthfulness, that there really never was anything more than a deep-rooted, long lasting friendship.

So, Other-Boy Troubles, I leave you with the question – is this a relationship in which you are willing to cast aside your jealousy, and put faith in your love? Or is this a rela- tionship that you cannot put faith in? Only your heart can tell you. -Dr. K. Forrest Bentham, PhD of Love The Doctor Is In -Dr. K Forrest Bentham, P.hD of Love The Doctor is In

Damage Control On The Justice System (Cont’d) are some monsters out there (such as Clifford Olsen) who should be locked Therefore, the needed reform to the justice system must not be done by mob away for the good of us all, but not all rule. This reform must be done by rational thinking minds who can analyze criminals are the "complete monsters" our system, take people’s complaints into account, determine what it does do we sometimes make them out to be. No matter what rea- son we have for fighting back against criminals, the minute we begin to treat them as less than human, we’ve already lost the fight against violent crime by becoming violent criminals ourselves. Even worse, if we take the law into our own hands and try to go up against criminals who are desper- ate, not thinking clearly, or lacking conscience, then we may end up being seriously injured or worse…

The point I’m driving at here is this: the best solution we can take is to let the court system take care of the criminals for us. However, due to their seeming ineptitude, in even this pursuit, it is clear that they need re- form, if only to stop the dissatisfied masses from taking justice into their own hands. Because what the greater society fails to understand is that a justice system doesn’t exist to punish criminals, but to protect the entirety of society. If we allow angry, venge- ance-driven mobs to take justice into their own hands (whether in reform- ing our pre-existing system or simply engaging in vigilante action), then the new Justice system that will be cre- ated will fail to protect those we per- ceive as criminals from cruel and un- usual punishments like the ones sug- gested by angry letter-writers. In turn, this will ironically create a system that is just as broken as the old one; it will be a system based not on protection and reformation, but instead, a sys- * Photo taken by: K Forrest Bentham tem that will exist only to exact blind, reactionary vengeance on those we have deemed to be evil. According to the Zodiac system, grade 8 – 12 students who were born from 1996 to 1992 belong to the category of monkey, rooster, dog, pig and rat. Each of the categories displays distinct personalities.

Energetic Monkeys of Grade 12 Grade 12 students born in 1992 belong to the Zodiac category of monkey. They are curious, mischievous and clever people. Because of their playful character, they sometimes create ill feelings to people around them. Their intellectual and creative personalities often times cre- ate troubles for them, although they often have good intentions. Monkeys are intelligent people who can adapt to any environment and can achieve a high level of success if they re- main focused. They are quick learners who will excel in career choices such as scientist, en- gineer, stock market trader, air traffic controller, film director, and sales representative.

A review from teachers who teach monkeys illustrate that this students from this category usually demonstrate a great amount of creativity and are natural leaders in their own ways. All of the teachers interviewed agreed that monkeys are respectful and generally very nice people. However, these traits come at a price; the teachers are unanimously of the opinion that monkeys can be lazy, unfocused and give up easily. Somehow, their bad work ethic is often a result of their over enthusiasm to be socialable (Over enthusiatic Extroversion.)

Proud Roosters of Grade 11 Grade 11 students born in 1993 belong to the Zodiac category of rooster (phoenix). Roost- ers are curious, motivated and confident people who are loyal and trustworthy. They are honest and may appear to be blunt at times. However, they are extremely sociable charac- ters who enjoy attention and take pride in their accomplishments. Roosters are sensitive people with caring hearts and love, and do well in careers such as acting, music, dancing.

A review from teachers who teach roosters illustrate that the roosters share some of the traits with their monkey colleagues. Roosters are also described as people who are laid back and lack self-motivation. Al- though they are a league that are quite diversified and filled with personality, the roosters are often described as egotistical and have a very high sense of pride. Roosters do not appreciate being described as smart because they would not want to have others raise their expectations and therefore expect high achievement (think Bart Simpson). As such, their sense of pride sometimes hinders their positive attitude in life.

Confident Dogs of Grade 10 Grade 10 students born in 1994 belong to the Zodiac category of dog. They are kind, loyal and caring people who are highly compatible with others. They value friendships, and tend to put others' happiness above their own. Dogs are determined people with strong morals and ethics. They are more reserved people who tend to take good care of finances. Despite their trustwor- thy and self-confident characteristics, dogs sometimes have trust issues, and have problems in trusting others. Dogs are good employees and are excellent in career choices such as police officer, scientist, counselor, interior designer, professor, politician, priest, nurse, clerk and judge.

A review from teachers who teach dogs illustrate that dogs are extremely diligent and respectful people. They are a group that values teamwork and actively commits to their work. Some teachers comment that dogs can be very stubborn students, but most agree that dogs are sparked by a determination to get things done if they set their minds to it.
