In 1966 Jim and Betty (Jenks) McQuillen and Peter and Lois Jenks added a flower shop in the center of Main Street, where Jim and Betty had the shop at its original location for 47 years, managed by their daughter, Kathy, who has been there over 40 years. Ironically, Tom Farrant’s daughter Susan had operated a flower stand in this same location about 100 years ago! The Main Street shop was there until February 2013, when the demolition of the block was scheduled. Farrant’s is continuing to operate their flower shop and greenhouse at the original Farrant Street location (overlooking beautiful Lake Memphremagog from Farrants Point), where they continue to welcome customers with a personal touch, whether for a special family celebration such as a wedding or a more somber occasion as the loss of a loved one.
