Kershner Starting in Goal... Through the fi rst 13 matches, redshirt junior Ali Kershner has started each of the contests and totaled a 0.77 goals-against average and four shutouts. EJ Proctor has played nine matches and allowed fi ve goals in 210:36. Proctor started the second half versus Hofstra, LSU and Pittsburgh.

Wilson Steps into New Role... Junior Kara Wilson has moved to the center back position in 2014, after playing in the midfi eld her fi rst two years with the Blue Devils. Wilson leads Duke with 1,187 minutes on the season and has sat out only three minutes in 12 matches. She was named to the CS360 Primetime Performer List Sept. 2, after helping lead Duke to wins over West Virginia and UAB.

Quinn, Gibbons Net First Goals... Rebecca Quinn and Christina Gibbons each netted their fi rst collegiate goals in the Penn State loss to conclude the Duke Nike Classic. Quinn drained a second half tally, while Gibbons converted a penalty kick for the Blue Devils. Gibbons went on to register a second penalty kick versus Hofstra in the next match. Freshmen Morgan Reid and Schuyler DeBree also added their fi rst collegiate assists in the classic as well.

Colas Nets Game-Winner... Blue Devil senior Katy Colas netted her fi rst career game-winner Sept. 14 in a 1-0 victory over LSU. Colas lobbed in her third career tally at the 39:42 mark of the fi rst half off an assist from Rebecca Quinn. It marked her fi rst goal scored since her sophomore season. Head Coach Robbie Church 14th Season at Duke After advancing to the NCAA Elite Eight for the third straight year and the fi fth time out of the last seven years, head coach Robbie Church enters his 14th season with the Duke women’s soccer program. Church and the Blue Devils will look to continue its success as Duke returns seven starters and 21 letterwinners in 2014. Over the last 11 years, Church has led Duke to 142 victories, 11 NCAA Tourna- ment appearances and a trip to the NCAA College Cup in 2011. Dealing with season-ending knee injuries to starters Gilda Doria and Cassie Pecht, the Blue Devils posted a 9-9-6 overall record in 2013, but played their best soccer at the end. Duke advanced to the Elite Eight for a school-record third straight year, before falling to top-seeded Virginia Tech. The Blue Devils totaled one of the best seasons in Duke history in 2011 with a school-record 22 victories, an ACC regular season title with an 8-1 record, a school-record 16 shutouts and a trip to the NCAA College Cup. Duke registered a 4-1 win over Wake Forest in the semifi nals of the NCAA College Cup before falling,1-0, to Stanford in the national championship match. For his efforts, Church was named the Soccer America National Coach of the Year and ACC Coach of the Year. Throughout his 28 years as a college head coach, Church has amassed a record of 348-215-52. He was recognized as the Carolinas Conference and NAIA Coach of the Year in 1989, the NSCAA/adidas South Region Coach of the Year in 2004, the Conference USA Coach of the Year in 1997, the Soccer America National Coach of the Year in 2011, the Southeast Region Coach of the Year in 2011 and the ACC Coach of the Year in 2011. In addition, Church was the NAIA South Region Coach of the Year in 1988 and 1989. He was also tabbed the NAIA District 26 Coach of the Year in 1988 and NAIA District 25 Coach of the Year in 1990. Church and his wife, the former Linda Atkins, have two children, Ashley (27) and Kyle (25). Ashley is a 2008 graduate of UNC Wilmington and was a four-year letterwinner on the women’s soccer team, Kyle is a 2010 graduate of Charlotte and was a four-year letterwinner on the men’s basketball squad.
