Time of the twinsBy MyraCAUTION! If you have not MU44RKL1i read the Chronicles (Dragons of; autumn twighlight, winter night, and spring ywKZh5F7S dawning) but want to, my review tell some things one might not want to X7GDDFG8j know. This takes place (at the starting) about two years after the War of the Ncle3uG4F Lance. This is about the Majere twins, Raistlin the wizard, and Caramon the kGCwOJi5m fighter. After the War of the Lance (dragons of; autumn twilight, winter night, i1qzbMEth and spring dawning), Raistlin started wearing the black robes. His brother isn't jVshZ5VGz to pleased with that, but his love for his brother is strong. Now Raistlin lives in pPf6jQkgH a tower of High Sorcery, he became the 'master of past and present' - the requirement to enter the tower, and even the grove around it. Raistlin was always one of my favorite characters, even though he is not very nice. I think what I most like about him, is that he is evil, but he doesn't work with the evil side.Anyway, Caramon is now married to Tika, and they live in Solace. But Caramon has sort of fallen into depression, and isnt... himself. He has become, for the most part, a drunk - which is terribly unlike him.As for the other hero?s of the lance; Goldmoon and Riverwind (the plainsmen) have three children and live happily. Tanis (half-elven) and Loranna (the elf) are married. Tasseloff (the kender) is still wandering. Flint, the dwarf, died in Dragons of Spring Dawning, and it is believed he is happy, sitting under a tree. Kitiara (does she count as a hero of the lance?) is still a dragon Highlord. Sturm died as well, during the war.Tanis arrives at the Inn of the Last Home with Crysania, a cleric of Paladine. She is going to the tower of high sorcery to see Raistlin. Tanis was supposed to take her there, but he needs to go to Qualinesti for the funeral of the Speaker of Suns. So Crysania goes on her own. Tika then sends Caramon after her, and with him goes Tasseloff, and the gully dwarf Bopo. When they arrive at the tower, they find out what Raistlin is after, and Caramon and Crysania are sent by Par-Salin back in time (Raistlin has already gone) to right before the Cataclysm. Tasseloff stays. Or - he was supposed to. You see, kender are one of the races that were not supposed to be, so it was thought that if one was to go back in time, they could change the past. Will he?All in all, I like this book (one might guess - I rated it 5 stars). It's a bit dark, but Tasseloff (like always) brightens it up a little, and made me laugh a few times.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great book!By Kindle CustomerI have read this series before, when I was a teen. I was impressed then by the rich description of a world with dragons and magic which made sense to me. The characters were complex, engaging and reacted to their experiences rather than statically fitting into some predetermined mold. I loved those characters. Well, Raistlan, Caramon and Tas. I actually do not really like Crysiana. Now I read this book through the lens of an adult and I find that the book is still gripping and engaging the second time through. I recommend this to teens, who may learn a bit about the complexities of love and ambition. I also recommend this book to adults who often need reminders. Oh, and the descriptions of Caramon's finely sculpted body don't hurt. Sequestered in the blackness of the dreaded Tower of High Sorcery in Palanthas, surrounded by nameless creatures of evil, Raistlin Majere weaves a plan to conquer the darkness--to bring it under his control.Crysania, a beautiful and devoted cleric of Paladine, tries to use her faith to lead Raistlin from the darkness. She is blind to his shadowed designs, and he draws her slowly into his neatly woven trap.Made aware of Raistlinrsquo;s plan, a distraught Caramon travels back in time to the doome ....

Review: Having a twin can be so rewarding. However, if one twin is blessed with a better physique than the other then there may be real jealousy between them. In the War of Twins Vol 2 one sees both adoration and jealousy. We continue the saga of battling good vs evil. Sometimes evil wins and sometimes good wins in the end.

ISSN: 2342-2009 Fafnir vol 3, iss 3, pages 51–62 Fafnir – Nordic Journal of Science Fiction and Fantasy Research journal.finfar.org Margaret Weis: A Literary-Biography Will Slocombe Biography and contact info: Will Slocombe ([email protected]) is a lecturer in the Department of English, University of Liverpool, and teaches American literature, and science fiction, amongst author things. He is the author of Nihilism and the Sublime Postmodern (Routledge, 2006), and articles on various aspects of c20th and c21st literature and theory. His current work focuses primarily on sf, particularly depictions of Artificial Intelligence. Margaret Weis (b. 1948) is one of the popular fantasy authors of recent years in the USA. She has produced numerous works, both science fiction and fantasy, with a host of co-writers and by herself, and is also responsible for a role-playing game company. Throughout her career, which spans over thirty years, she has produced a significant proportion of bestsellers. Yet, despite this, she is possibly one of the least critically discussed authors of fantasy, in part because of a perception that her works are too populist, lacking literary merit, but perhaps because – in today’s post-Game of Thrones world – they are not actually popular enough. That said, the aim of this piece is not to critically analyze her works in any great detail, nor is it to seek to persuade readers of that amorphous quality of “literary merit”; rather, it is intended as an overview of her fiction to identify the scope and dominant themes of her writing.

  • Legends Volume One
® LEGENDS VOLUME ONE Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman Poetry By Michael Williams Cover Art By Matt Stawicki Interior Art By Valerie Valusek ™ The Meeting A lone figure trod softly toward the distant light. Walking unheard, his footfalls were sucked into the vast darkness all around him. Bertrem indulged in a rare flight of fancy as he glanced at the seemingly endless rows of books and scrolls that were part of the Chronicles of Astinus and detailed the his- tory of this world, the history of Krynn. “It’s like being sucked into time,” he thought, sighing as he glanced at the still, silent rows. He wished, briefly, that he were being sucked away somewhere, so that he did not have to face the difficult task ahead of him. “All the knowledge of the world is in these books,” he said to himself wistfully. “And I’ve never found one thing to help make the intrusion upon their author any easier.” Bertrem came to a halt outside the door to summon his courage. His flowing Aesthetic’s robes settled themselves about him, falling into correct and orderly folds. His stomach, however, refused to fol- low the robes’ example and lurched about wildly. Bertrem ran his hand across his scalp, a nervous gesture left over from a younger age, before his chosen profession had cost him his hair. What was bothering him? he wondered bleakly—other than go- ing in to see the Master, of course, something he had not done since . since . He shuddered. Yes, since the young mage had nearly died upon their doorstep during the last war.
