Pre Feasibility Report PRE FEASIBILITY REPORT 1. Introduction 1. Identification of project and project proponent The Sulkhari Godhan Granite Mine project is located at Village-Sulkhari Godhan, Tehsil-Jaithari, Distt.- Anuppur (MP). The 4.988 ha quarry area with production of 5989 cubic meter is being operated by the lessee M/s Kisan Exports having registered office in Khedia bhawan P.O.- Bijuri, Tehsil-Kotma, Distt.-Anuppur (M.P.) The lessee is a Govt. Land. The fresh query lease was granted for period of 30 years. The lease area comes under Govt. land and non agriculture land. Brief description & nature of the project Proposed mining method is block mining by using help of wire saw, LD-4, Jack hammer, Hydralulic jack, compressor, excavator. The open cast mechanized method of mining has been proposed. All operations of mining will be done by deployment of heavy earth moving machinery with LD-4 on single shift base to develop/work in the granite deposit. Need for the project and its importance to the country and or region The State is blessed with deposits of Diamond, Copper, Dolomite, Rock Phosphate, Manganese, Coal, Limestone, Pyrophillite/ Diaspore, Limestone, Iron and Granite. The rich mineral wealth provides ample scope for the development mineral based industry in the State. 2. Demand –Supply gap Granite is easily available in state as well as in country. 3. Imports vs. Indigenous production No imports have been proposed for the Granite Mineral. Production as state as well as country has enough reserve of Mineral. 4. Employment generation (direct and indirect) due to the project During mining operation skilled, semi-skilled and un-skilled labours will be required for drilling, blasting, sizing, loading etc. 2. Project description 1. Types of project: Proposed quarry project of Granite Mine. 2. Location of the Project District/ State Tehsil Village Khasara No Area in ha Ownership of land Anuppur Jaithari Sulkhari 492/1/K 4.988 ha Govt. Land Godhan 885/4/K The area lies at the cross section of N- 22◦57’49.44’’, E- 81◦50’38.91 ” and N- 22◦57’59.75’’, E- 81◦50’50.54 ” is covered under toposheet no. 64F/13. 3. Details of alternate site: Mining is site specific project and Mineral deposit has been identified by certifying agency; hence alternative site is not applicable. 4. Size or magnitude of operation: The total lease area is 4.988 ha area and total production is proposed 5989 m3 through opencast fully mechanized mining method. 5. Project description with process details: Proposed mining method is block mining by by using help of wire saw, LD-4, Jack hammer, Hydralulic jack, compressor, excavator. The open cast mechanized method of mining has been proposed. All operations of mining will be done by deployment of heavy earth moving machinery with LD-4 on single shift base to develop/work in the granite deposit. 6. Proposed Rate of Production When The Mine Is Fully Developed: Proposed production capacity 5989 m3 per year. Proposed Method of Mining: The proposed method of mining is by open cast method of mining has been proposed. Blasting Blasting will be done as and when required. Reclamation/Backfilling: - At the end of conceptual period about 4.0570 ha area will be developed up to ARL 496m. After proving the non Granite zone the conceptual OB will be used for backfilling the central to southern part of the applied QL area in 2.6048 ha for 25m depth and 1.10 ha converted as a water reservoir. The pit will be wire fenced with gate and proper haulage road will be provided up to water logged limit. About 3285 number of trees will be planted in reclaimed area during conceptual period. 7. Raw Material Requirement: No raw material is required for the mining of Mineral. 2 8. Recycling and Reuse No sub grades mineral likely to be generated. 9. Water source: Nearest source of drinking water available in Lease area Electric System Electricity facility is available near the Mining area. Solid waste management: Presently there is no dump over the applied area. At the end of proposal period about 3417m3 soil & 107026 m3 waste will be generated, and will be dumped in the south western part of the lease area. At the end of conceptual period about 3393 m3 soil & 537559 m3 (85%) waste will be generated. After the carried out exploration then this OB will be used for backfilling the conceptual pit. Site analysis i. Connectivity The QL sanctioned area Sulkhari Godhan is located at a distance of 30 km distance to the south of Anuppur district headquarter via Jaithari. The Sulkhari - Godhan villages are located about 15km distance to the Jaithari Tehsil.The applied area is about km west of Sulkari and 1.2km south of Godhan village. The Bus & taxi are regularly plying from anuppur/jaithari which is easily available up to Sulkhari-Godhan village in all seasons. Land Godhan 885/4/K ii. Topography :- Topographically, the applied area has undulating topography. Elevation point of view, highest altitude is of 538 min the south western part , while the lowest point is of 524m in the eastern part of the area. The total elevation difference is of 14m.the drainage of the area is radial and drainage flow direction towards the east & south west direction meeting in to local nala/pond. The area is connected by kuchcha road from eastern direction. 3 iv. Existing land use pattern: Existing land use pattern of the quarry area is Govt. land. Planning concept: It is a mining project, and planning for excavation shall be governed by the approved mining plan. b. Population projection: The project is small in magnitude. No influx of population is expected as labor shall be deployed from the local villages. c. Assessment of infrastructure demand (physical and social) 4 Mining Machineries like Wire saw, Tractor Mounted Compressor Hydraulic Shovels, Jack Hammers & dumpers will be required for mining operation. d. Amenities/facilities Rest shelters, Toilets, drinking water facilities, first aid facilities, and regular medical checkup facilities has been provided for labors and their families. 5 Proposed infrastructure a. Industrial area (processing area) The project is mining project and hence site office shall be required. Residential area (non processing area) No residential area is proposed for the subject project. b. Green belt It is proposed that 10 plants developed per year in eastern barrier zone. At the end of conceptual period 2.957 ha area shall be developed with 3285 numbers of trees. Social infrastructure Rs. 50,000.00 per year shall be provided to the local gram panchayat for the social developmental programmes on the need base assessment, which shall be incurred as per the requirement. c. Connectivity (traffic and transportation road/rail/metro/water ways etc): d. The QL sanctioned area Sulkhari Godhan is located at a distance of 30 km distance to the south of Anuppur district headquarter via Jaithari. The Sulkhari -Godhan villages are located about 15km distance to the Jaithari Tehsil.The applied area is about km west of Sulkari and 1.2km south of Godhan village. The Bus & taxi are regularly plying from anuppur/jaithari which is easily available up to Sulkhari-Godhan village in all seasons. e. Drinking water management (source & supply of water): Nearest source of drinking water available in Mine Area Sewerage system: No construction or sewage waste is expected from the quarry process. However the domestic waste from the toilets will be given treatment through septic tank and soak pit arrangement. f. Industrial waste management: No industrial waste will be generated. 6 Solid waste management: During the proposal period the generated mine waste un sized blocks total quantum 107026 m3 may be used as minor mineral in future. in due course of time the applicant will apply for use of such siliceous waste material(Unsized blocks) under minor mineral use mentioned in MP MMR 1996 and after getting the permission this 5 siliceous waste material (Unsized Blocks) will put under crusher for desired size and sold to the end users. 7 Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R & R) Plan No R&R plan is required as no displacement of people is proposed for the mining project.

In 2011 there were 45.58 percent workers involve in cultivation, 29.88 percent in agricultural labourers, 1.50 percent in household industry and 23.04 percent worker in other economic activities.
