NYM/2018/0791/FL This application was refused planning permission by the Planning Committee on 06 June 2019, subject to an amendment to the reason for refusal to clarify that the proposal would also conflict with the provisions of Development Plan Policy DP8. The decision notice has been issued with the following amended reason for refusal:

The wider chalet and caravan site proposed development by reason of the retention of the prominent unattractive brick quarry building as a meeting room would have an undermining effect and dilute the character and appearance of the ongoing restoration of this former quarry to a more natural form and detract from the Authority’s agreed landscape restoration plan which sets a vision for an attractive landform and landscape post quarrying. As such the proposal would be contrary to the provisions of Core Policy A, Development Policies 8, 14 and Development Policy 16 of the NYM Core Strategy taken together which, amongst other things, seek to retain traditional buildings which make an important contribution to the quality and character of the landscape, together with seeking to ensure development conserves and enhances the wider landscape of the Park, special qualities of the Park and avoids damage to the landscape.

NYM/2019/0316/FL & NYM/2019/0317/FL The applications were approved by the Planning Committee on 06 June 2019, subject to the receipt of improved landscaping involving the planting of at least 12 trees to principle public elevations. Details were received on 28 June 2019, which involve:

• Allowing seven sections of the northern hawthorn hedge to grow into trees (annotated green), • Oak, 5 hornbeam & 10 wild cherry planted in gaps in hedge & north-west corner (annotated red & orange), • A commitment to other unspecified tree planting around the wider Farm.

It is considered that these details exceed the Planning Committee request as such the decision notices have been issued with an additional condition on each as set out below.

5. All planting, comprised in the details of landscaping submitted on 28 June 2019 shall be carried out in the first planting season following the first use of the buildings or the completion of the development, whichever is the sooner; and any trees which within a period of 5 years from the completion of the development die, are removed or become seriously damaged or diseased shall be replaced in the next planting season with others of similar size and species.

NYM/2019/0261/FL This application was approved by the Planning Committee on 06 June 2019, subject to no objection from the Highway Authority to the amended plans showing vehicle parking and turning within the site. The Highway Authority has confirmed that they have no objection to the proposal and recommended condition approval. The decision notice has been issued with the following additional condition:

16. HWAY17 Notwithstanding the provisions of the Town and Country Planning General Permitted Development Order 2015 or any subsequent Order, the garage(s) shall not be converted into domestic accommodation without the granting of an appropriate planning permission.
