Return Address: The Secretary, State Commission Assessment Panel, GPO Box 1815, Adelaide, SA 5001 or [email protected] DEVELOPMENT ACT 1993 SECTION 49 – PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT TO DEVELOPMENT Notice is hereby given that an application has been made by ElectraNet (as part of the Oz Minerals Port Augusta – Olympic Dam electricity transmission line development sponsored by the Department of Energy and Mining for the purposes of public infrastructure under Section 49 of the Development Act 1993) to construct a 33 km long overhead high voltage electricity transmission line from the Davenport Substation to Carriewerloo, via Yorkeys Crossing. Development Application: 660/V004/19 The existing 132 kV transmission line from Davenport Substation to Yorkeys Crossing would be replaced by a 275 kV line - a length of 19km. The current 30m wide easement would be widened to 50m. A new 275 kV transmission line would be constructed from Yorkeys Crossing to the Carriewerloo Substation site - a length of 14km. A 50m wide easement, including an access track, would be established. Steel lattice tower or monopole structures, 50-60m high and 300m apart, would support the line. The proposed site covers various land parcels along a route alignment starting from the Davenport Substation (7km SE of Pt Augusta) and heading north to Yorkeys Crossing (8km north of Pt Augusta), then heading NW to the Carriewerloo Substation site (27km NW of Pt Augusta). The majority of the route would follow an existing easement. The majority of the route is located within the Primary Industry Zone of the Port Augusta (City) Development Plan (Consolidated 7 July 2016). Sections of the route also traverse the Industry, Rural Living, Residential, Residential (Davenport), Commercial (Bulky Goods) and Conservation Zones. A small section of the route is located in the Pastoral Zone of the Land Not Within a Council Area (Flinders) Development Plan (Consolidated 29 November 2012). The application may be examined during normal office hours at the office of the State Commission Assessment Panel (Level 5, 50 Flinders Street, Adelaide) and at the office of the Port Augusta City Council (4 Mackay Street, Port Augusta). Wadmore, Mayor of Campbelltown, was honoured in 1972 when his name was given to Wadmore Park in Maryvale Road, Campbelltown.

Seek prior approval from landholders to use private tracks. • Public Access Routes are located in very remote areas. The places so handicapped are, like the unfortunate infants christened after certain celebrities, voiceless in the matter… (Register, 25 July 1900, page 7d) Baan Hill - On section 50, Hundred of Allenby; an adjacent spring gives a good supply of water all year round; derived from the Aboriginal panau - ‘ochre’. The name was given to a pastoral run by H.S. Williams and J.T. Bagot and, on 24 June 1976, proclaimed as a recreation reserve. Babbage, Mount - B.H. Babbage discovered the mountain in 1856 and named it ‘Mount Hopeful’; in the following year it was renamed by G.W. Goyder. Babbage Peninsula, situated on Lake Eyre North was, virtually, discovered by Babbage, as opposed to Lake Eyre South which was discovered by E.J. Eyre and not named until 1963. Born in London, circa 1814, he came to South Australia in the Hydaspes in 1851. A qualified engineer he was involved in the construction of the Port Adelaide railway, entered Parliament in 1857 and resigned nine months later to command a northern exploration party. By the end of six months his explorations had scarcely penetrated beyond the limits of pastoral settlement and, consequently, both the public and the government, increasingly, became impatient at his slow rate of progress. Eventually, Major P. E. Warburton was dispatched to take over the leadership and, later, it was said that, ‘Babbage’s expedition of 1858-59 was one of the most fruitful in its detailed collection of geographical information and the minuteness of its survey work.’ The Advertiser of 24 December 1858 has a satirical poem - one verse reads: Each caviller at Babbage then A fairy land, no doubt, he’d see, We’d northward send exploring Where others saw but gravel, To find new land, or water when And geographic problems he He chose artesian boring! When a township bearing a most musical native name was rechristened Hopetoun, the Register quietly sent it to Coventry by persisting in printing its original title… (Register, 25 July 1900, page 7d) Da Costa Park - A 1923 subdivision of part section 214, Hundred of Noarlunga, by the Church of England Collegiate School of St Peter; now included in Glenelg East and named after Benjamin M. Da Costa, a Portuguese Jew and owner of considerable property in South Australia. He bequeathed a life interest in it to various relatives on the termination of which ‘a handsome legacy was bequeathed to St Peter’s College … [he] was formerly engaged in mercantile pursuits in Grenfell Street and left the colony in 1848 for England where he has since resided…’ Dairy Flat - A descriptive name given to land in the Bald Hill district. A reporter said in 1851 that he ‘came to Dairy Flat, on the border of the Yankalilla River, formerly a dairy farm and the establishment of Mr J.B.
