Important Safety Instructions

1. Be sure to read this manual before use and follow the procedures specifies.d: Please retain this manual for future reference.

. To avoid any damage, do not use any accessories not recommended by the

manufacturer. Handle the device carefully during transportation to avoid impact.

. Do not put the device on uneven or inclined surfaces.

. Do not put heavy objects on the power cord and affix the power cord properly to avoid someone tripping over it.

. Never over load the power cord to prevent electrical shock or fire.

. Guard the device from any liquid or foreign object to avoid electrical shock or f ire due to lose contact or short circuit.

2. If any accessories need to be replaced, be careful to avoid a short circuit.

3. There are no user serviceable parts in the device. Nobody except authorized technicians can open this device. To prevent the risk of electrical shock or fire, protect this device against moisture and rain. . Make sure that the power source this device is connected to has a continuous power flow.

Merlin Module Series Accessories List

AAA Batteries

ZR800D Universal IR 3-way switch IR (Infrared) RF (Radio Remote Control (RJ45 Remote Control Frequency) Connection) Remote Control Operation The Merlin Module screen can be used by itself on a flat, level surface or it can be combined with Elite’s Merlin media stand housing as a fully assembled product. The power connection is located on the screen module’s rear right-hand leg support and feeds conveniently through the cabinet housing to its designated power source.

1. Begin by plugging in the power Power switch cord to the power supply located Power Supply on the left side of the Merlin Series screen. Then plug the power cord into your wall socket.

2. Next, flip the power switch to turn on the Merlin Module screen.

3. Use the included IR, RF remote or 3-way switch controller box to operate the screen.

IR “eye” sensor

Note: Always point at the IR “eye” sensor when using the IR or the ZR800D remote.

Infrared-Sensitive Safety Device (ISSD)

This is a safety feature to prevent injuries caused by fingers, hair, etc. getting caught up in the screen’s closing mechanism. If the small infrared light beams are obstructed, the screen closing operation will halt immediately.

Caution 1. The Merlin Module furniture housing should only be cleaned with dry wipes appropriate for furniture care. 2. The screen material may be cleaned with a damp cotton cloth but caution should be taken to avoid getting moisture down into the rolled material or mechanical functions of the screen. 3. For optimal product longevity, put the screen in the down (closed) position when not in use. 4. Avoid touching the screen material either with fingers or any other foreign objects (Exception, see #2. Cleaning methods). 5. To avoid heat damage or fire, keep away from open flames or excessively hot (beyond human endurance) heat sources. 6. When in use, please don’t reach into the screen case. 7. Do not disassemble your screen and attempt your own troubleshooting. Please treat your Merlin with the same care as any other piece of fine furniture. 9. Prolonged direct sunlight destroys synthetic materials. Please do not keep any projection screen (Elite or other Manufacturer) in direct sunlight for a prolonged period of time.

Troubleshooting

In case of a malfunction 1. Cease operation 2. Disconnect (unplug) from power source 3. Contact Elite Screens immediately. (http://www.elitescreens.com/service_form.htm or Ph: 877.511.1211 If the screen does not go up/down 1. Check the power cord and make sure that it is connected to a good power source. 2. Check the infrared-sensitive safety device (ISSD) for foreign items/obstructions? 3. Check the IR and RF remote control’s battery life 4. Try to up/down the 3-way switch on left part of screen case.
