THE XXV ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC CONFERENCE, LANGUAGE AND CULTURE, 20-22 October 2014

Dear readers!

It is indeed a great honour and pleasure for me to present this special issue of Procedia Social and Behavioral Sciences, containing the selected papers presented at THE XXV ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC CONFERENCE, LANGUAGE AND CULTURE (20-22 October 2014). The Conference was hosted by the National Research State University, Tomsk, , and was dedicated to the year of culture in Russia. The conference “Language and Culture”, held for the 25th time, develops and enhances the tradition of conferences devoted to foreign languages and cultures, and creates an ideal platform for bringing together scholars, researchers, holders of research fellowships, teacher educators and school teachers. It is the platform to share the results of research, present various projects, share experiences and new ideas on all aspects of research in language, literature, culture and related fields, and create a truly international atmosphere of cooperation and understanding. More than 700 participants registered for participation in the Conference. 150 speakers representing different countries, educational institutions, including universities, Academy of Sciences, Academy of Education, federal and regional ministries and educational departments took part in the conference. The Conference united participants from Austria, Bulgaria, China, Estonia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Indonesia, Italy, Poland, Taiwan, the USA, Turkey, Vietnam, as well as from various cities in the Russian Federation: Barnaul, , Chelyabinsk, Ekaterinburg, Moscow, , Perm, Pyatigorsk, St. Petersburg, Surgut, Tambov, Tomsk, Tyumen, Vladivostok, Volgograd, Yalta.
