44th Annual May-Retta Daze 2020 Performing Artists Application

Thank you for your interest in performing at the May-Retta Daze 2020 Arts, Crafts & Music Festival on May 2nd & 3rd. This is a Singer/Songwriter (cover and original music) acoustic style performance to give local musicians a platform to showcase their talents! Please read all information below and submit application to [email protected] by April 1, 2020 to be considered for festival performance. GENERAL INFORMATION • Singer/Songwriter musicians (cover and original music) are all welcome to submit. (Sorry, bands cannot be accommodated). Artists under the age of 18 must have their parent or legal guardian’s permission to submit. • Performers will be given approximately a 1-hour timeslot to setup, play, and exit the stage. (Additional play time may be requested; however, Event Director reserves the right to approve or decline request.) • Applications must include a performance sample video/sound clip or link. • Musicians that are selected to perform on the main stage during peak festival hours based on talent/skill, will receive compensation ($50-$200 depending on timeslot). • Performers will be listed on the event website and social media pages. • Artists are responsible for their own travel, lodging, equipment, and setup. (Festival cannot accommodate drum sets or bands.) • Amplified sound with up to 2 microphones, monitor and instrument plug-ins will be provided. • Absolutely NO vulgarity will be allowed. • NO backup tracks, beats, etc... allowed. This is an acoustical performance. • Once application is received, artists will be contacted via email by April 2nd with acceptance or non-acceptance. All correspondence on this matter will be in writing and not discussed on the telephone.

Waiver: The exhibitor/Performer will indemnify and save harmless the City of Marietta and/or the Marietta Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department, and JRM Management Services, Inc. from and against all claims, damages, actions, judgments, decrees, penalties, and/or liability and expenses in connection with loss of life, bodily and/or personal injury, and/or damaged property arising out of or from the use and occupancy by the Exhibitor of the premises or any part thereof. The Exhibitor/Performer also agrees to hold the City of Marietta, the Marietta Parks and Recreation Department, and JRM Management Services, Inc. harm-less and not responsible whatsoever for loss, theft, burglary, robbery and damage to property of any kind, including equipment, supplies, prizes, merchandise, exhibits, etc., of the Exhibitor/Performer or any of its agents, invitees, etc. The signed application constitutes a contract to follow all the rules and regulations and is a commitment to participate personally if accepted. Any photos submitted become the property of the Parks and Recreation Department.
