Výroční Zpráva Crossclub 2019 VÝROČNÍ ZPRÁVA CROSSCLUB 2019 Projekt Crossclub byl v roce 2019 podpořen částkou 2 000 000, od MHMP, částkou 140 000,- od MKČR a částkou 15 000,- od MČP7. Chcete zažít pocit Berlína a nechce se vám jezdit tak daleko? Crossclub v Holešovicích vám to umožní… Klára Nemravová, zpěvačka (zdroj Reflex) Crossclub je jedinečně koncipované multikulturní centrum, které nabízí skutečnou kříženinu kultur, žánrů a přístupů uprostřed pražských Holešovic. Za svojí jedenáctiletou existenci se nedělitelně zařadil mezi přední pražskou scénu, kde je utvářena velká část alternativní produkce. V současné době je zároveň odbornou i laickou veřejností vnímáno jako spoluurčující v rámci evropského alternativního kulturního dění. Základem dramaturgie je otevřenost různým uměleckým formám – divadlu, hudbě, výtvarnému umění – a jejich vzájemnému propojování. V rámci rozsáhlé mezinárodní spolupráce Crossclub systematicky prezentuje nejnovější trendy v alternativním umění a uvádí na své scéně desítky významných světových umělců, čímž se Crossclub stává důvodem návštěvy metropole i pro stále se zvyšující počet zahraničních turistů, kteří centrum vnímají jako místo reprezentující kreativitu Prahy a České republiky. Neformální prostředí s naprosto unikátním designem obohacuje nabídku společenského a kulturního života v centru Prahy. Program je určený převážně pro mladší a střední generaci, nicméně některé pořady jsou připravované pro děti, mládež, nebo zahraniční návštěvníky Prahy. I díky širokému spektru návštěvníků i různorodé dramaturgii narůstá publicita v domácím tisku, rozhlasu, na webových portálech. Mediální ohlasy zaznamenává multikulturní centrum Cross stále častěji také v zahraničí. Obsah projektu Crossclub 2019 byl souhrnem dílčích dramaturgických bloků, které se vzájemně prolínaly v různých komponovaných a žánrově přesahových projektech mezinárodního významu. Celkem se v Crossu představilo 871 dramaturgických celků, premiér, které se konaly na horní stagei, spodní stagei, půdě klubu Cross, kavárně klubu Cross. Od dubna do října byla dramaturgie rozšířena i před klub Cross – Cross Square. Celkem se představilo stovka zahraničních headlinerů, více jak stovka českých či zahraničních setů, více jak 1000djs či producentských setů, několik divadelních představení, vernisáž, fireshow, výtvarné battly, pravidelné letní filmové kino, klasika bez kvádra, či pravidelný Street Food festival. Důraz na mezioborovost a propojení české a zahraniční scény přinesl do kontextu Projekt Crossclub byl v roce 2019 podpořen částkou 2 000 000, od MHMP, částkou 140 000,- od MKČR a částkou 15 000,- od MČP7. alternativního umění nové pohledy a reprezentuje hlavní město Prahu v kulturní oblasti v širokém záběru. HUDEBNÍ PRODUKCE Hudební dramaturgie byla zaměřena na zprostředkování různých složek alternativní hudby, a to za minimální vstupné či zcela zdarma. Hlavním cílem bylo kontinuálně představovat současné špičky z nejrůznějších oblastí alternativní hudby, konfrontovat české hudebníky se zahraničními, objevovat nové talenty. A hlavně potvrzovat to, že Praha je jedním z kulturních center Evropy. Vzhledem k vysoké návštěvnosti a ohlasech považujeme projekt za zdařilý. Díky poskytnuté dotaci jsme rovněž mohli pozvat umělce, kteří se v ČR ukázali poprvé. Dále jsem započali výměnu českých projektů se zahraničním promotéry, díky nimž se v ČR představí další umělecky přínosné zahraniční projekty a zároveň české projekty představit v zahraničí. Hudební produkce se konala každý den na dvou stageí, za rok 2019 se tak představilo přes 1 000 umělců jak z České republiky, tak ze zahraničí. DIVADLO – CROSS ATTIC Celkem se za rok 2019 uskutečnilo pod produkčním/kurátorským vedením Cross Attic 81 akcí, během nichž se představilo více než 200 umělců nebo uměleckých kolektivů. Cross Attic se stal součástí 5 festivalů. 34 akcí/performancí bylo uvedeno v české nebo světové premiéře. Cross Attic se stal koproducentem 2 inscenací pro Pražské Quadriennale a koproducentem 5 nezávislých projektů. Za rok 2019 byl Cross Attic dlouhodobým rezidentním místem (12 měsíční rezidence) pro 3 české umělce a krátkodobým rezidentním místem (14 dní) pro 11 umělců z čehož je 10 umělců ze zahraničí [GER, AUT, POL, POR, ITA, ARG/NLD, HUN]. Zároveň se Cross Attic stal součástí několik zahraničních projektů (PRALIN, RESHAPE, ARTISTS CROSSINGS). Kromě klasických divadelních představení, se v rámci CROSS - ATTIC konaly: Storytelling: Úterní večery byly v letních měsících před Crossem zasvěceny ohni, které se rozhořely se západem slunce. Těsně po západu začal vždy jeden vypravěč vyprávět příběhy, které si nosíme zakořeněné hluboko v nás. Slampoetry: Slam poetry večery byly směsí stand up humoru, filosofie, performativy, emocí, ale především poezie. Projekt Crossclub byl v roce 2019 podpořen částkou 2 000 000, od MHMP, částkou 140 000,- od MKČR a částkou 15 000,- od MČP7. Produkce divadla se rozšířila i na dětské publikum. Minimálně jednou měsíčně se konalo pravidelně divadelní představení pro děti, workshopy či výtvarné dílny. CROSS SQUARE PROJEKT CROSS SQUARE měl za cíl oživit veřejný prostor a byl jakýmsi průřezem kulturní činnosti v ČR – letní kino, divadelní scéna, hudební produkce, fireshow, přednášky/cestopisy, klasická hudba, Street food jam, grafitty stěna a street galerie. Návštěvník měl možnost si dubna do října vychutnat mnoho rozličných podob umění, a to zcela zdarma. Hlavním cílem bylo kontinuálně představovat současné špičky z nejrůznějších oblastí alternativní kultury, konfrontovat české hudebníky se zahraničními, objevovat nové talenty. městské části s kvalitním kulturním zázemím. V rámci Cross Square v roce 2019 vystoupili: Hudba: The Black City (IT), Afu-Ra (USA), Dreadzone Soundsystem (UK), Donny Bennet (AUS), Transglobal Underground (UK), Rumba de Bodas (IT), Beta Zinq (ISR),Catzndogz (PL), Cirk biZarT (FR), Christian Löffler, Buty, United Flavour, PSH, Puding Paní Elvisovej, Švihadlo, Pohřební kapela, Midi Lidi, Martin Talaga, Pio Squad, Mydy Rabycad, Prago Union, Rest, Douny, Himalayan Dalai Lama, Ting, Never Sol & Ploy, Bohemian Cristal Instrument, Mucha, Houpací koně, Noisy Pots, Jesse, Pink Concrete, Hiro, New Sound Orchestra, Mr. Cocoman a mnoho dalšího…. Kvarteto Pražského filmového orchestra: Dramaturgie klubu Cross si klade za cíl prezentovat všechny složky kultury a vnést je do netradičních prostorů, čímž se vážná hudba dostane do povědomí i mladé generace, která si často k vážné hudbě musí najít cestu. Letní kino: V rámci letního kina se promítaly nejnovější i klasické filmy české i světové kinematografie, vedle kterých nechyběly ani artově laděné snímky. Projekce se konaly každý týden od dubna do října. Za svou dobu už se Letní kino před Crossem stalo jedním z nejnavštěvovanějších letních kin v Praze. OSTATNÍ Dramaturgie obsahovala i několik přesahových akcí. Brown, Advisor Between 1984 and 1991, heavy metal became one of the most publicly popular and commercially successful rock music subgenres. The focus of this dissertation is to explore the following research questions: How did the subculture of heavy metal music between 1984 and 1991 evolve and what meanings can be derived from this ongoing process? How did the contextual circumstances surrounding heavy metal music during this period impact the performative choices exhibited by artists, and from a position of retrospection, what lasting significance does this particular era of heavy metal merit today? A textual analysis of metal- related materials fostered the development of themes relating to the selective choices made and performances enacted by metal artists. These themes were then considered in terms of gender, sexuality, race, and age constructions as well as the ongoing negotiations of the metal artist within multiple performative realms. Occurring at the juncture of art and commerce, heavy metal music is a purposeful construction. Metal musicians made performative choices for serving particular aims, be it fame, wealth, or art. These same individuals worked within a greater system of influence. Metal bands were the contracted employees of record labels whose own corporate aims needed to be recognized.

    Hildegard Transfigured: a medieval trance for the 21st century Hildegard Transfigured is a collaborative piece of concert-theatre by vocal trio Voice, visual artist Innerstrings, and composer Laura Moody that celebrates St. Hildegard of Bingen through song, psychedelic lights, and live visuals. The performance at SJE includes the world premiere of Moody’s Hildegard Portraits. St Hildegard of Bingen (1098 - 1179) joined the monastery in Disibodenberg (in German Rhineland) when she was just eight years old and would stay there for nearly forty years, eventually becoming abbess in 1136. She founded her own abbey at Rupertsberg near Bingen in 1147 and a second monastery in nearby Eibingen in 1165. Throughout her life, Hildegard was a great spiritual leader, theologian, mystic, scientist, and composer. Revered as a saint for centuries, Pope Benedict XVI canonised Hildegard of Bingen on 10 May 2012. Hildegard experienced intense visions, recorded in her major work Scivias (Know the Way), (1141-51), and it is this aspect of her life that the collaboration with visual artist, Innerstrings, will bring to life in Hildegard Transfigured, transfiguring her beautiful music into a new sensory experience. Laura Moody’s research for the show brought her to The Personal Correspondence of Hildegard of Bingen, translated by Joseph L Baird and Radd K Ehrman (OUP 2006). She has set extracts and fragments of Hildegard’s letters in her composition Hildegard Portraits, written especially for this programme. You will hear Moody's music interspersed throughout in the form of miniatures, culminating in the finale The Living Light. “It is some kind of miracle to have the kind of access to a female creator of the twelfth century that we have with Hildegard, her output only having been permissible during her lifetime because of her sacred status.

Diné, Apache, Hopi, Pueblo, Gila, Yaqui, and O’odham bands are currently creating vast punk and metal music scenes. In this thesis, I argue that Native punk is not just a cultural movement, but a form of survivance. Bands utilize punk and their stories as a conduit to counteract issues of victimhood as well as challenge imposed mechanisms of settler colonialism, racism, misogyny, homophobia, notions of being fixed in the past, as well as bringing awareness to genocide and missing and murdered Indigenous women. Through D.I.Y. and space making, bands are writing music which ii resonates with them, and are utilizing their own venues, promotions, zines, unique fashion, and lyrics to tell their stories.
