Press Release
Press Release AIDA guest for a day - ship visits in Hamburg, Kiel, and Warnemünde Walking along the gangway just once, standing at the railing, and looking out over the ocean or eating in one of AIDA's on-board restaurants - residents of Hamburg, Kiel, and Rostock, as well as vacationers on the coast will have the chance to fulfill this dream again in 2015. The first few dates of ship visits for the coming season have already been established and can be booked starting immediately. AIDAmar will kick things off on March 21, 2015 in Hamburg. In addition to AIDAcara, AIDAluna can also be visited in Kiel this year for the first time. In Warnemünde AIDAdiva will be added to the program, thus providing an initial opportunity to get to know this ship as well. The ship visit includes a tour lasting about three hours as well as lunch on board. During the tours, visitors will get a glimpse of the ships' public areas - from the wellness oasis to the Kids Club and various staterooms. Afterwards, visitors will embark on a journey of culinary discovery in one of the buffet restaurants. The ship visit costs 49 euros per person. Children 15 years of age and younger are welcome on board free of charge. As a way of saying thank you, guests who book an AIDA trip within the three months following their ship visit will receive on-board credit for 50 euros.* There are currently 12 dates to choose from in the northern German port cities. Other dates are to follow. -

AIDA Cruises Will Resume Cruise Operations with Fall and Winter Voyages
AIDA Cruises Will Resume Cruise Operations with Fall and Winter Voyages Germany's leading cruise line will begin Canary Island cruises in November, Western Mediterranean and Orient cruises in mid-December and extends pause until November ROSTOCK, Germany, Aug. 28, 2020 -- AIDA Cruises, the leading cruise line in Germany and a part of Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK), today announced that it will offer cruises this fall and winter that combine the fascination of a cruise trip with an unforgettable holiday experience to several popular destinations. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the conditions are currently not in place in Germany's neighbouring European countries, especially in the north with Norway and Denmark or the Baltic states. For many distant destinations outside of Europe, the Federal Republic of Germany has issued a travel warning or the respective countries have prohibited calls of cruise ships until 2021. As a result, the company has cancelled its previously announced cruises for September and has updated its fall and winter 2020-2021 program to provide its guests and sales partners additional time to plan and book vacations for a safe and enjoyable return to cruise holidays. As the first ship from the AIDA fleet to begin sailing, AIDAmar will set course on Nov. 1, 2020, for seven-day voyages to the Canary Islands, a popular destination with German vacationers. AIDAperla will follow on Nov. 7, 2020, and will take over the travel program originally planned for AIDAnova. AIDAmar's voyages will start and end in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. For voyages with AIDAperla, in addition to Las Palmas, AIDA Cruises will offer a second departure port with Santa Cruz de Tenerife. -
A Qualitative Review of Cruise Service Quality: Case Studies from Asia
sustainability Article A Qualitative Review of Cruise Service Quality: Case Studies from Asia Yeohyun Yoon 1 and Kyoung Cheon Cha 2,* 1 School of Hotel and Tourism Management, Youngsan University, Busan 48015, Korea; [email protected] 2 Department of Business Administration, Dong-A University, Busan 49236, Korea * Correspondence: [email protected] Received: 2 September 2020; Accepted: 29 September 2020; Published: 30 September 2020 Abstract: Although the cruise sector is considered an ‘unreplaceable’ form of tourism, with the cruise industry recording steady growth over the years, there is a lack of research and analysis on cruise ships themselves. Accordingly, this study sought to determine whether service quality differences among ships operating in the Asian market could suggest broader implications for the sustainability of the cruise industry. We chose the SERVQUAL framework for the analysis; we also employed the multiple case study method and topic synthesis to compare the service quality of three ships. Of the ships investigated—the Costa Victoria, Diamond Princess, and Superstar Virgo—the Diamond Princess had the highest service quality. Based on the results, we outlined suggestions for improving the quality of cruise services, including introducing the latest large ships and high-tech facilities, complying with the departure and arrival times of sailing schedules, improving the ratio of crew members per passenger, establishing a cruise personnel training system, and expanding membership program operations. Keywords: cruise; service quality; SERVQUAL; onboard attributes 1. Introduction Cruise tourism is one of the fastest growing tourism segments, and it has undergone significant transformation, especially in the last few decades [1,2]. -
