Finder is the first yaoi manga I ever read, and immediately hooked me on the genre. It went out of print some years ago due to licensing issues, but happily is now available again. Plus, DMP did not merely reissue the previous English version. This edition features an updated translation. I cant read Japanese, so I do not know how it compares. What I will say is that the small changes made are an improvement, in my opinion. Many scenes make more sense now, and the slang is more relevant. The book is about the same size as Be Beautifuls edition, but now includes a color plate at the front and whiter, better quality paper. My only critique is that I wish it had a dust jacket like the Japanese editions do - I would have happily paid more.Takaba Akihito is a free-lance photographer who gets caught taking pictures of the wrong man - Asami Ryuichi. Asami is yakuza and he captures Takaba to teach him a lesson in pain, and pleasure. But, one of Asamis rivals also takes notice of Takaba and decides to use him against Asami. The storyline is an exciting backdrop for Yamanes exquisite and realistic drawings. Her art is some of the best found in yaoi, with clean lines, rich detail and good proportions. Unlike a lot of Yaoi, which draws the uke like a flat-chested girl, Yamanes men are undeniably male. The sex is graphic and inventive, with full genitalia. Readers should note that this includes non-consensual sex and mild BDSM.This volume also includes three bonus stories at the end that are not set in the Finder universe. The first involves two school mates learning that their fathers are more than friends; the second involves a class president welcoming the new freshman; and the last is about a secret organization whose members have special abilities. This last story should have been turned into its own stand alone. Yamane put in more detail than should be included in a short story, and it was very promising, but ended too abruptly. Overall, this is a lovely edition and I am excited for DMP to release the rest of the series in English.
