This summer, we are offering over 200 summer camp options catering to a Twide array of interests from dance, art, athletics, STEM, adventure and so much more. Balances can be paid on-line or at any of our offices. If the balance is not paid in advance, you will lose your spot and your deposit for that camp. All campers must be potty trained. No pull-ups, please. Please let us know of any special needs, medications, epi pens, or food allergies that may apply. An authorized person must come into the facility to check in/out their camper daily. Camps that do not meet the minimum participant registration will be cancelled the Thursday afternoon prior to camp and all registrants will be notified. All camp scholarship applications must go through the Director of Recreation at Mount Pleasant Town Hall. Snacks will NOT be provided. Campers may bring their own if they would like. There are no camp reminders.

CAMP REFUND AND PAYMENT POLICY For all camps $50 OR UNDER, there is a $25 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit required to reserve a space in camp. For all camps OVER $50, a $50 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is required. No additional processing fee will be charged for transfers of remaining balances. THE BALANCE MUST BE PAID IN FULL ONLINE OR AT ANY OF OUR FACILITIES BY MAY 15 FOR JUNE CAMPS, BY JUNE 15 FOR JULY CAMPS, AND BY JULY 15 FOR AUGUST CAMPS. Those with unpaid balances will be dropped from camp. Refund requests, less the deposit, will only be considered with at least five business days’ notice prior to the start of camp.

Therapeutic Recreation/Unified Sports was developed to provide year-round sports and programs for youth and adults with and without disabilities. Through these activities, athletes of all abilities learn skills, improve self-esteem, and build new friendships while increasing inclusion in our community. MPRD offers year-round sports and programs, including basketball, swimming, golf, kickball, softball, soccer and many social activities. Athletes have the possibility to compete locally as well as internationally through Special Olympics.

HALF RUBBER any years ago, Mount Pleasant Recreation Department held a half rubber tournament for the community. Half rubber is a game with Lowcountry Mroots played with a bat and stick like baseball, only there are no bases and, as the name suggests, uses half a ball! After discussion among the Recreation Committee and the department, a plan was set to resurrect the tournament in Spring 2020. In an effort to heed COVID-19 precautions, the Department opted to postpone the tournament until 2021. The time has come to reintroduce the half rubber tournament to our residents this year! This tournament will be open to anyone over the age of 16 and teams do not need any prior experience. Our latest event, the Sweetgrass Half Marathon, will provide an opportunity for our distance runners to compete here in Town. From our Old Village 5K Harbor Run, The Cooper River Bridge 10K Race and now our Sweetgrass Marathon, we now have a running event for everyone,” said Recreation Committee Chair, Gary Santos.
