The Team, selected on the results they obtained at the 1985 National Skeet Championships in Melbourne, are all experienced and capable shooters, very anxious to shoot well at tbis comoetition.

COACHING DIRECTOR The Australian Clay Target Association was one of the first sports to recognise that the existence of a body of coaches with a high standard of proficiency was an impor- tant step in the development of clay target shooting at all levels. 47 sports are now part of the scheme. The Level 1 Accreditation Course was submitted and accepted in 1980, at that time the A.C.T.A. had already set up the structures for the implementation of the National Scheme. They are: The National Coaching Council of the Australian Clay Target Association, consisting of the seven State Coaching Directors and the National Coaching Director National Coaching Director. State Coaching Director. Zone Coaches. Club Coaches. It was our aim as a sport to have all clay target coaches accredited under the Federal Scheme, so that when ac- credited they are recognised coaches of a standard level, (most of course, are well above that standard in their abili- ty), that is recognised by all sports, and Government bodies. Our sport now has 263 Level 1 coaches and 33 Level 2 coaches. The Level 3 course has been suhmitted to the Australian Coaching Council for approval. It is our aim that all Club Coaches should be at least accredited to Level 1standard, Zone Coaches at Level 2 accreditation standard and State Directors at Level 3. State Directors are responsible for the over-seeingof the scheme within their states and should be consulted on the appointment of Zone Coaches within their states. The Zone Coach must be at least accredited at Level 1, when ap- pointed to that position. The Zone Coach in turn is responsible for the Club Coaches within their zone and should be consulted by the ACCREDITATION Clubs before an appointment of a Club Coach is made. This Cup would have to be one of Clay Target's most valuable trophies.
