Created as a State University in 1981, the fledgeling institution flourished rapidly. Having begun on a modest scale in 1985-86, with six post-graduate departments, the University now conducts studies in frontier and interdisciplinary areas of science, social science, humanities and commerce, spread across twenty seven PG departments. The University is proud of its highly qualified and dedicated faculty members, motivated students and research scholars, and adequately equipped supporting and administrative staff who are capable of assimilating the forces of modernization and globalization in the field of higher education. The University is named after Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, the legendary 19th century pioneering social reformer, social activist, litterateur who was dedicated to the cause of the upliftment of women. Since its inception the University has committed itself to the goal of teaching and learning in higher education, ensuring quality education and providing research and extra-curricular activities in the best possible manner in order to spread the benefit of higher education in a location which is relatively backward but which has a glorious history of playing a lead role in the freedom struggle of India. Within the last nine years of its existence, the University has registered its growth both qualitatively and quantitatively. Post- Graduate studies are conducted not only in 27 departments of the University but also in 35 colleges /institutions as well. -

Abstract Webometric is measuring the websites, webpages, parts of webpages, words in webpages, link structure, web search engine results. This study examines 36 Private Universities of Madhya Pradesh. Investigate Domains distribution of websites, analyse number of webpages and link pages and calculate the self link web impact factor, External link web impact factor and Revised web impact factor for state Government Universities in Madhya Pradesh and Rank the websites as per the web impact factor. The study analyzes different aspects of bibliometric study and found that Utkal University is the most productive institutions with 37.76% of total publications and growth rate of publication of the study is -105.63%. Physics and Astronomy is most preferred subject area having 20% of total publications. The most preferred journal for publications is Optics Communications and Indian Journal of Physics with 1.63% of contributions each and P.K. -

UTKAL UNIVERSITY INTRODUCTION Utkal University, established in the year 1943, is the seventeenth oldest University in India. Its present campus at Vani Vihar is located on a sprawling 399.9 acre area in the heart of Bhubaneswar beside the National Highway No.5, connecting Kolkata and Chennai. The foundation stone of the campus was laid by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India, on 1st January 1958, and the campus was inaugurated by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the second President of India, on 2nd January 1963. A teaching-cum-affiliating university, Utkal University at present has twenty- seven Post-Graduate Departments located in its campus for studies and research in the disciplines of Science, Humanities, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Law and Commerce. The total number of students in the P. G. Departments of the campus at Vani Vihar is about 5,000. Utkal University is the largest affiliating university in the country having 381 affiliated general colleges including 16 Autonomous Colleges, 100 Professional Colleges, 9 Law Colleges and 7 Medical Colleges, which include 2 Homeopathic, 1 Ayurvedic, 2 Dental and 2 Allopathic Medical Colleges. A BRIEF HISTORY Prior to 1936, when Odisha was made into a separate province, all the colleges in the region were under the jurisdiction of either Patna University or Andhra University. -
