The Department of Natural Resources is providing this report to satisfy the requirements of the "Procedures Concerning Certain Licenses Act", IC 14-11-4, and its associated administrative rule, 312 IAC 2-3. For a petition to be considered valid it must: 1. Contain the typed or legibly printed name and complete mailing address of each petitioner; 2. Affirm that each signatory to the petition satisfies the requirements of item 2; and 4. Identify the application for which the public hearing is being requested either by the application # or the applicant's name and the project description. A petition which does not meet these requirements will be considered invalid and the hearing request will not be granted. Description : Two new bridges will be constructed over Eagle Creek to carry new ramp traffic. The two existing steel beam structures carrying I-465 over the creek will be replaced with new structures along the same alignment. The new bridges will be three span structures with concrete I-beams and span lengths varying from 94' to 155'. The spill through abutments will have 2:1 maximum sideslopes armored with limestone riprap placed over geotextile fabric. The abutments and piers will be skewed to align with stream flow. Description : The superstructure of the existing culvert carrying SR 37 over Britton Branch (known locally as Krause-Klepfer Drain) will be widened to slightly. Existing 9’ x 6’ x 180’ culvert will be extended on the upstream section of the culvert by 12’. The extended 3-sided culvert will maintain the existing upstream invert and skew. Minor channel shaping, confined to the construction right-of-way, will occur at the upstream of the extended culvert. 25’ of riprap over geotextile will be placed as scour protection. Total out-to-out length will go from 180' to 192'. The approach roads will not be raised. Description : A 70' x 50' area will be filled in the south floodplain of the low land to allow for easier mowing. The fill will vary in depth from 3' on the landward side to approximately ¼' on the streamward side. It will be set 25' back from the top of the bank. The finished elevation of the fill will vary. The fill material will be brought in. Approximately 100% of the shoreline will be maintained as is. There is an old unused 5" drain pipe from the city that is broken in the middle of the yard I would like to extend to the creek. Description : An existing 45' wide, 150' long channel off Lake James will be restored to its original condition to improve navagation. Approximately 3' of accumulated muck and debris will be removed from the channel bed by dredging to a depth of 6' below the average level of the lake at the center of the channel and sloping uniformly to a depth of 4' at the shoreline. The excavated material will be transported to an upland containment area for dewatering and disposal. Water from the containment area will not allowed to return to the lake.
