dwyer IMMEDIATELY 14-1-68 local SAXOPHONE-PIANO DUO WILL PERFORM MONDAY

Eugene Rousseau, saxophonist, and Joseph Rezits, pianist, will present

a free public recital Monday (April 8) at 8:15 p.m. in the University of

Montana Recital Hall.

The saxophone-piano duo from Indiana University will perform Sonata

by Bernhard Heiden; Sonatine Sportive by Alexandre Tcherepnin; Sonata, Op.

19 , by Paul Creston; Musique de Concert by Marius Constant, and Concertstuck

by Pierre Max Dubois.

Rousseau holds a master’s degree from Northwestern University and a

Ph.D. from the University of Iowa where he was a pupil of Himie Voxman. He

won a Fulbright grant for study with Marcel Mule at the Paris Conservatory.

In 1963 he was appointed musical representative for the U. S. Trade Fair in

Conakry, Guinea, West Africa.

Dr. Rousseau, a member of the IU faculty, has published numerous articles

on and a method book for the saxophone. He presents clinics and

lecture-demonstrations for all educational levels.

Rezits is a graduate of the Curtis Institute where he was a scholar­

ship student of Isabelle Vengerova. He has been soloist with many orchestras,

including the Philadelphia , has appeared as a recitalist throughout the

counctry, and has recorded for Festival and Audiophile labels. He is a

clinician, a lecturer and the author of articles on piano pedagogy and other

subjects.

Prof. Rezits taught at the University of Illinois and at New Jersey

State College at Trenton before joining the IU faculty in 1962. 30
