The museum's collection is divided into five categories: Fine arts (including painting, sculpture, decorative arts and period furniture); Musical instruments; Natural history and fossils; Arms and armor; Antiquities and artifacts. The museum is known for housing the world's largest violin collection and for its significant collections of ancient weapons and sculptures. 09:30 - 11:30 Anping Old Fort/ Anpimg Old Street【Lunch on own】 A combined Dutch military and commercial force captured modern day Anping in 1624, and built Fort Zeelandia as its defensive stronghold, which was completed in 1634. In 1662, Koxinga successfully took the Dutch fort back, and changed the 12:00 name to Anping. Today the only remnant of the Dutch period is the southern brick wall outside the front gate of the Old Fort, covered in - thetangled roots of old banyan trees, evidence of the nearly400 years 14:00 of Taijiang's history. In 1975, as part of the Tainan City Government's "sightseeing year" project, Anping Old Fort was repaired and its grounds extended. A pointed roof was also added to the observation tower, and the wall was painted white; that is the Anping Old Fort that we see today Taijiang Naitonal Park【Lake tour for 1.5 hours】 Established in 2009, Taijiang National Park is located on the southwest coast of Taiwan. The land and sea areas of the park embrace the coastal waters off Tainan City as well as the estuaries of the Qigu River, Zengwen River, Lu'ermen River, and Yanshui River. Also within its 4,905-hectares of land area are the Black-faced Spoonbill Refuge and Qigu Wetlands. The coastal alluvial terrain, old shipping channels and traditional industries further add to the natural and cultural allures of the park. The sea areas of the park extend over 39,310 hectares and include one of the main sailing routes—Dongji Islet to Lu'ermen—used by early Han settlers from the mainland. The majority of this region has long been known as "Taijiang," giving 14:30 the park its name. Visitors can also explore mangrove forests, wetlands and other ecological and scenic attractions at this - emerald Eden on Taiwan's southwest coast. 16:00 .

Chair: Marco Gozzi (Università degli studi di Trento). Beneventan notated manuscripts at the Biblioteca Nazionale in Naples. Speaker: Luisa Nardini (University of Texas, Austin). This paper focuses on the notated Beneventan manuscripts held at the Biblioteca Nazionale in Naples. With the exception of the manuscript VI E 34, these codices have been under-investigated by music historians. My presentation will illustrate these manuscripts as a whole, tracing the history of their acquisition by the library, discussing their nature, provenance, and destination, as well as highlighting their relevance for the understanding of medieval chant traditions. Repertory for the Office published in Italy 1542-1725. Speaker: Jeffrey Kurtzman (Washington University, St. Louis). A survey of the repertory for the Office Hours of Vespers, Compline, and Matins published in Italy in the 16th- early 18th centuries. This repertory comprises by far the largest quantity of music circulating in Italy in this period and was the music most often heard by the largest number of people. Paper is based on c. 1500 prints from this period examined by author, eventually to appear in a database sponsored by the Fondazione Cini of Venice. Paper evidence and the dating of medieval choirbooks: a case study. Speaker: Rob C. Wegman (Princeton University).
