MORE POINTS AND MORE VALUE AS WOOLWORTHS UNVEILS NEW EVERYDAY REWARDS QANTAS CREDIT CARD Woolworths, HSBC, MasterCard and Qantas deliver Australians one combined loyalty/credit card and a stack of points SYDNEY: 28 October 2010 – Customers will soon be able to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points by the trolley-load when Woolworths launches the Woolworths Everyday Rewards Qantas credit card on November 1st.1 With a low annual fee of $89, the new credit card is one of the best value frequent flyer rewards cards in the market, offering customers one Qantas Frequent Flyer point per $1 spent anywhere MasterCard is accepted. For example, a customer who spends $230 on groceries in one transaction at a Woolworths supermarket (excluding Tasmania) could earn 430 Qantas Frequent Flyer points as follows: 230 Qantas Frequent Flyer points earned by using the credit card (no minimum spend). 200 Qantas Frequent Flyer points earned from the Everyday Rewards program (1 point per $1 above $30 minimum spend) by scanning the barcode on the back of the credit card. If repeated each week, Woolworths’ grocery purchases alone would equate to more than 22,000 points a year which could be redeemed for $150 worth of Woolworths gift cards, a Bose Companion 2 Multimedia Speaker or a return Economy Classic Award flight on Qantas from Sydney to Brisbane.

  • 'Woolworths Rewards' Program
ACRS Review of Woolworths ‘Woolworths Rewards’ program Commissioned by Woolworths Food Group Background Monash Business School’s Australian Consumer, Retail and Services (ACRS) research unit was commissioned by Woolworths Food Group to conduct an independent assessment of data regarding the new ‘Woolworths Rewards (WR)’ program. This program replaces the existing Everyday Rewards scheme and removes, from 1 January 2016, the ability to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points. Instead, this program uses a deferred discount system applied to selected items throughout Woolworths and BWS stores, and to be redeemed in Woolworths and BWS stores. ACRS was commissioned to review the structure of the Woolworths Rewards program, and estimate its relative benefits compared to the existing Everyday Rewards scheme and the Coles FlyBuys scheme. In particular, ACRS reviewed the following: 1. Whether the Woolworths Rewards program would return more or less value to the average shopper compared to Everyday Rewards. 2. Whether the average shopper is able to earn a $10 reward more or less quickly with the Woolworths Rewards program compared to the Coles FlyBuys scheme. 3. Overall whether the Woolworths Rewards program returns more value to consumers compared to either Everyday Rewards or FlyBuys Methodology A variety of data sources were used to conduct this review. Data regarding the average value per shopping occasion and average occasions per week were based on estimates provided by Woolworths. These figures were then used to calculate the estimated number of loyalty points the average shopper would earn during an average shopping trip. The approximate dollar value of points in each program was calculated using a variety of methods: 1.

Article No. 6983 Available on www.roymorgan.com Link to Roy Morgan Profiles Tuesday, 27 September 2016 How popular are customer loyalty programs really? They attract a lot of hype and media attention, but how popular are customer loyalty programs? Despite detractors’ claims that they are too complicated, offering little real value for consumers, 71% of the Australian population are members of at least one store loyalty program, the latest findings from Roy Morgan Research reveal. With 49% of Aussies 14+ numbering among its ranks, Woolworths Rewards (formerly Everyday E Rewards) has the largest membership base, ahead of the Coles-powered Flybuys program (45%). More than one in every five Australians (21%) are members of department store Myer’s customer loyalty program, MyerOne, and 18% belong to Priceline’s Sister Club. Women’s-wear chain Millers also has a popular loyalty program (13%): not surprisingly, its members are overwhelmingly female. In fact, women comprise the majority of members for almost all the customer loyalty programs measured by Roy Morgan. The one exception is Dan Murphy’s, whose My Dan Murphy’s program has a slightly higher proportion of male members than female. • Supermarkets Approaching 10 Million Flybuys Or Everyday Rewards Cardholders
Article No. 5277 Available on www.roymorgan.com Link to Roy Morgan Profiles Monday, 4 November 2013 Big data gets bigger: Supermarkets approaching 10 million FlyBuys or Everyday Rewards cardholders “Sure, you can have some of my personal information—but what do I get in return?” Half of Australians (14+) now have a FlyBuys or Everyday Rewards card, the latest research from Roy Morgan shows. E Supermarket giants Coles and Woolworths now have at least 9.5 million Australian consumers (and potentially their contact information, visitation patterns, spending habits and product preferences) on file between them. Despite relaunching and receiving a big jump in the past year, Coles’ FlyBuys still trails its rival, with 33% of total consumers compared with 36% who have an Everyday Rewards card with Woolworths. After just three years in the field, in 2010 Everyday Rewards overtook teenaged FlyBuys as the most widely held loyalty card. FlyBuys remained on a popularity plateau until April 2012 when Coles increased the points-per-dollar and trialled the ‘my5’ promotion which—although criticised for its complexity—clearly helped stimulate recruitment: from June 2012 to June 2013, the proportion of Australians with FlyBuys jumped from just over 1 in 4 (26%) to 1 in 3 (33%). However Everyday Rewards has maintained the lead with a smaller, but still significant, rise from 32% to 36% over the period. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASFOR IMMEDIATE Roy Morgan Research Ltd.A.B.N. 91 007 092 944 Quality System Certified to AS/NZS ISO 9001 401 Collins Street, Melbourne, Victoria, 3000 – GPO Box 2282U, Melbourne, Victoria, 3001, Australia Tel: (03) 9629 6888 Fax: (03) 9629 1250 (03) 9224 5387 [email protected] Warren Reid, Group Account Manager – Consumer Products, Roy Morgan Research, says: “Although FlyBuys made some significant changes to their loyalty program in 2012 and was rewarded with a sharp increase in cardholder numbers, Everyday Rewards remains the more common scheme among consumers.

  • British Airways Greatly Boosts Reward Seat Availability, and Entire Industry Shows Dramatic Improvement
British Airways Greatly Boosts Reward Seat Availability, and Entire Industry Shows Dramatic Improvement The 10th annual Reward Seat Availability Survey finds Southwest, JetBlue, Etihad Airways and Turkish Airlines atop the rankings. Shorewood, Wisconsin, USA, 26 June 2019 ─ The IdeaWorksCompany Reward Seat Availability Survey answers the question, “How easy is redemption for the most popular basic reward type offered by the world’s top airlines?” This year’s survey assesses 20 top airlines, with Etihad, Qatar, and Singapore as newcomers for 2019. Key findings include: Higher priced air rewards provide more seats and also add complexity. Discounted air rewards provide more value during periods of lower demand. Frequent flyer programs are adding more partner reward flights to online booking engines. The net result of the above findings is better reward seat availability for 2019 compared to 2018. Of the frequent flyer programs surveyed this year, 13 provided better overall reward availability for 2019, with only three programs showing decreased availability. That’s a meaningful improvement, with two carriers exhibiting big year-over-year availability improvements. British Airways jumped 17.9 points to an overall reward seat availability score of 80%, and Korean Air increased 15.4 points to 84%. The survey also captures average reward prices for top markets within the US for six key airlines. Here too the trend for consumers is positive with the unweighted average air reward price (reflected as miles or points) dropping 17% since 2014.
