A pretty good readBy Doug DamageA good comic over all, but not as exciting as the Death of Superman comic. It might make readers depressed, but it will inspire them to not give up. That life goes on and the spirit of hope can rise again.18 of 21 people found the following review helpful. A classic, but not without production problems.By Randall LotowyczI'm glad DC is keeping this classic storyline in print and these latest editions fortunately collect issues that have never been collected before, like the and Team Luthor special. Unfortunately some of the same mistakes found in the Death and Return of Superman Omnibus are still found here (whereas other mistakes were corrected). See the attached images. The now-pants-less Robin is fairly amusing. Please fix for the reprint so we can finally have a definitive release.

Praise for THE DEATH OF SUPERMAN: "The tragedy proved to be a massive hit, receiving significant national news coverage and selling millions upon millions of copies. Spanning several different Superman titles, the arc was a in every sense of the word... the final fight between Superman and Doomsday is a knock-out brawl for the ages."--PASTE MAGAZINE "An epic and carefully constructed narrative."--BLOODY DISGUSTING "Both in the universe and outside of it, DC toyed with the idea of a culture that had come to take the Man of Steel for granted. This was a time when heroes were getting darker and more extreme in their methods, and the style of the era didn't seem to allow for a character like Superman to keep his relevance. By removing Superman from the equation, we - and the characters in the DCU - learned how important Superman was as an icon, and his return was all the more impactful. This storyline brought the real and fictional universes together in a stirring realization of just how much Superman means to our culture."--IGNAbout the Author Dan Jurgens is a writer and artist most famous for creating Booster Gold as well as for being one of the main forces behind "The Death of Superman." Louise Simonson began her career in comics as an editor for Warren Publications, and went on to work at both and DC,where she garnered acclaim for her writing on X-Factor, Power Pack, New Mutants, SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL,STEEL, and WORLD OF WARCRAFT. She is the author of the graphic novel Snow White and the Seven Robots. Roger Stern has written for radio, television, the stage, and the Internet, creating scripts for everything from sketch comedy to flash- animation.
