way’ Membership and Residents, it is my pleasure to present the Westbank First Nation 2020 Programs & Services Guide. WFN is proud to be one of the few First Nations in Canada that is in a position to provide local government services to both our Members and residents living on our lands. Your decision to live, work, and recreate on our lands contributes to the creation of a unique community and supports our Self- Government journey. Our elders tell us that community is medicine, which is why our programs are designed with holistic health in mind. Members and staff work diligently to provide you with programs that consider spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental health. I would like to thank everyone who participates in creating a vibrant community; you are the heartbeat of our community. We have temporarily cancelled all of our programming as a result of the COVID -19 Pandemic. It is our desire to get these programs up and running as soon as it is safe to do so. In the meantime our focus is on ensuring we do our part to limit the spread of the virus by following social distancing measures. Way’ WFN Community Members,

Welcome to our tenth issue of the WFN Community Services Program and Services Guide. This guide will give you the listing of all the services and programs being offered from April 2020 to September 2020.

WFN Community Services takes in pride in aligning our programs and services with the WFN 2019/2022 Strategic plan created by Council. We strive to ensure that we are making a positive impact in the lives of Westbank First Nation members and improving the wellbeing of the community. This year has proven to be challenging due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is times like these that really brings our community closer together – we can all do our part to keep our community safe! Managing the risk is in our hands, and by washing our hands we wash the risk away.

All eight departments within Community Services: Early Years, Education & Social Development, Health & Wellness, Membership Services, Sensisyusten School, WCDC, Administration and Youth & Recreation, work towards achieving the overall goal and objective of creating a healthy community. As you review the directory you will find a program, activity, or service that meets your interest and fits your schedule. However, if you find that your personal interest is not included, you are welcome to inform us, and we will work towards embracing your interest.

The spring season is a time of renewal to take time to think about what is important to each and every one of us. How we can support, care for & enhance our community by providing professional & comprehensive services.

We look forward to connecting with you at one of the many programs and services listed, all brought to you by WFN Community Services and its awesome teams.
