We 10 have been really pleased to see our students 11 embracing our school values of 12 whanaungatanga, manaakitanga and Visual Arts 13 kaitiakitanga and it is always lovely to see 14 them demonstrating wonderful manners around school - it creates 15 a nice school environment conducive to learning. 16 17 I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our boys’ and 18 girls’ teams that went to the WIMS Football Competition this week. 19 Both teams competed extremely well and put their best foot 20 forward on the day. The boys team made it to the semi-finals and 21 came fourth place overall in the boys’ division, while the girls made 22 the finals and went on to secure first place in the girls’ 23 competition! Well done to both teams - you represented FIS to the 24 highest standards of sportsmanship, teamwork and commitment. 25 A huge thank you to both the teams’ coaches, Brendon Keats Waka Huia (Treasure Box)26 (girls) and Ross Moratti (boys) and a big thank you also to Mrs 27 Zena Taylor for helping on the day. Thank you also to all of the 28 parents and caregivers that were able to supply transport and 29 support the teams - it is much appreciated. 30 31 Please don’t forget to get your tickets for our school production, 32 Beauty and the Beast, taking place in week five of this term. Last 33 year, due to Covid-19, we were unable to proceed with our school 34 production, which means we are even more super excited about 35 this upcoming event. The students have been busy rehearsing and 36 I know they would love to see as many of you there as possible. 37 Ceramic Art 38 All the best to those playing sports on the weekend. We 98 have provided an opportunity for individuals to financially contribute if they would like to but this is 99 completely optional and is certainly not an expectation. We 129 have been using the same rewards and 130 programme for several years and felt it 131 was time for an update. 132 133 From Term Two students participating in 134 the First Credit Union School Banking 135 Programme will start working towards 136 receiving rewards from their first deposit. 137 138 Students will be given a savings tracker 139 and a rewards sheet - once they have 140 made 5 deposits through the school 141 banking programme they can choose a 142 reward - there are two reward options 143 per term! 144 145 146 147 148 Kelly Sports Waikato 149 We at Kelly Sports Waikato are beginning a new project with Sport New Zealand called the Tu Manawa programme 150 beginning this week, Monday 10th May! This programme will include FREE circuit workouts for women of all ages 151 as well as FREE children's play hub (accompanied by parents) to help provide accessible active sessions to the 152 public.
