Any youth hockey activities that the Flyers take on Hockey Central is involved with too. Hockey Central also has helped in other areas. Generating news about high school hockey, fund raising , clinics for coaches and officials, all with the strong support of the Philadelphia Flyers. In January of 1978, the first large-scale coach­ ing clinic for hockey was held in the Philadelphia area. Over four hundred coaches from the area braved the snow, sleet and ice to listen to Pat Quinn, Fred Shero, Terry Crisp and others share their ' knowledge of hockey. The clinic, sponsored by the Flyers, Hockey Central and the Amateur Hockey Association of the United States, was called a suc­ cess by all.
