IndorYi Connect (March – June 2015) Message From Chapter Chair Dear Yi, Pleasure to connect with you vis-a-vis The Newsletter! The Yi Indore Annual day saw screening of the play ‘Between the Lines’ and was enthusiastically applauded. We had a great opportunity and enriching experience to interact with Ansoo Gupta on Digital Marketing and with Dr Shweta Kaushal on Business Etiquette. The sheer charisma and involvement of the speakers won the hearts. The Earth Hour celebration was high on energy and witnessed phenomenal foot-tapping response from members and outsiders, like always! We celebrated World Environment Day by planting 130 saplings in Kasturbagram, with the assistance of Yi members and supporting organizations. The Industrial visits organized paved way for one-to-one session with the Chaupal students. The students actively participated in all the six industry visits and it was an excellent learning experience. The feedback from Chaupals has been encouraging to say the least. We showcased the play ‘Unfaithfully Yours’, by Mona Singh and Rohit Roy. It was a perfect get-away from our hectic schedules and filled with fun, and entertainment. The world’s first International Yoga day celebrated in association with ISHA foundation was benefitting to members and friends, while sending the Yoga message to the entire world. We hope to continue the various activities undertaken successfully at our chapters over the years and incorporate the new ones initiated by Yi National in various vertical, with all your help!! Cheers!! Basant Yi Indore Annual Session 2014 - 15 Saturday, 21 February 2015: Indore Yi (Indore chapter) organised its annual session for the year 2014-15 on 21 February 2015 at Countywalk, Indore. Alongside the business session of the Yi annual day, a cineplay "Between The Lines" was screened. “Between The Lines” is a contemporary CinePlay set in urban India, where well-educated and affluent couples find themselves caught between modernity and tradition. Maya and Shekhar are lawyers who also happen to be married to each other for 10 years. Shekhar is a high-profile criminal lawyer, while Maya balances work and life, drafting routine contracts for a law firm. As destiny would have it, they end up arguing on opposite sides of a criminal trial, resulting in unexpected consequences for their personal and professional lives. After the screening of the cineplay, there was an interactive session with Ms Nandita Das, Film Actress and her husband Mr Subodh Maskara, who were the lead character of the cineplay “Between The Lines”. At the business session, Ms Abhilasha Mimani, Chair of 2014-15 made a detailed presentation on Yi in (Indore chapter) for the last 12 months highlights important activities and initiatives. Mr Anukool Bhatnagar, Deputy General Manager, State Bank of India was the chief guest for the session. He congratulated the team Yi Indore for their work done during the year. Mr DNV Kumara Guru, National Chairman, Young Indians & Director – External Affairs, Indian School of Business congratulated team Yi Indore for excellent work done in past one year. He also discussed about the important activities done in Yi National. Mr Praveen Agarwal, Chairman, CII Malwa Zonal Council and Director, Ad-Manum Packaging Ltd congratulated Ms Abhilasha Mimani and entire Yi Indore team for their work in past year. Mr DNV Kumara Guru announced Mr Basant Dhanuka Director, Dhanuka Cold Storage Pvt Ltd as the Incoming Chapter Chair for Yi (Indore chapter) and Ms Rachana Jain, Director, Univive Healthcare Pvt Ltd, as Incoming Co Chair for Yi (Indore chapter). Ms Rachana Jain, Co Chair, Yi (Indore chapter) has given the vote of thanks. There were about 80 people participated in the session. The session concluded over dinner at Countywalk, Indore. Yi wishes the new team of office bearers at (Indore chapter) the very best! Learning Session on Digital Marketing Friday, 20 March 2015: Indore Yi Indore chapter organized a session on “Digital Marketing” by Ms Ansoo Gupta, Chief Operating Officer at PinStorm. The objective was provide a wholistic overview of Digital Communication Technology's penetration into every aspect of business and indeed life itself. Ms Ansoo Gupta has been Chief Operating Officer at Pinstorm, India's largest digital marketing and brand building company. A recipient of numerous Awards of Excellence in the fields of Marketing and Advertising, Ms. Gupta’s experience span print and electronic media of repute like National Geographic, History Channel, Star TV, First City and Parenting Magazine and AETN All Asia Networks. She has been an accomplished professional with in-depth knowledge of traditional and new age media and has made her mark in areas of digital and social media marketing, brand management and development and online advertising. During the session, Ms Gupta explained that Digital is not something that can be sidelined and left to one individual in the company. It is something that everyone needs to embrace whole-heartedly and make it a part of their daily lives much like a cup of tea itself”. She covered the trends in digital brand management and development in her address. She also discussed about the case studies to know how digital platform is increasing used successfully to build brands and what future holds for young entrepreneurs in this medium. The session was attended by around 70 people including Yi members and their spouse. A Half day workshop was organized at Yuva Chaupal IIPS College where 60 Yuva members from all the Yi Indore Yuva Chaupals attended the session. Celebration of Earth Hour (2015) Saturday, 28 March 2015: Indore Yi Indore chapter celebrated Earth Hour 2015 on Saturday, 28 March 2015 at Saket Club Ground Indore. The objective was to create awareness among the citizens about the environment conservation. Earth Hour is the world’s biggest celebration for our amazing planet – every year on the last Saturday of March, millions of people across the globe unite in a spectacular show of support to raise awareness about climate change. From signature campaigns to musical evenings, cyclothons to candlelit marches, walkathons, dance performances, magic shows, flash mobs and recycling drives - Earth Hour is our planet’s time to shine! It’s a time to host your own Earth Hour campaign – of one, or one hundred people – to pledge to do your own bit for the planet. Whether it’s a status update, or an acoustic band performance, everyone can be an Earth Hour Hero. When the planet goes dark, governments, organizations and people take notice and this has led to extraordinary outcomes for the environment in countries like Russia, Argentina, Madagascar and our own. From this darkness will emerge greater enlightenment about climate change and the need to make more planet-friendly choices. And every hand that flips a switch off, turns on a brighter future! This year the “Earth Hour 2015” was scheduled on Saturday, 28 March 2015 from 2030 Hrs to 2130 Hrs. To create awareness for this cause, Yi Indore Chapter organized various activities throughout the week: 1. Flash Mob & Nukkad Natak: Students of Yi Yuva Chaupal IIPS College and IPS Academy prepared a Flash Mob and a Nukkad Natak, which was performed on Friday, 27 March 2015, in various malls in Indore. The objective of the activity was to create awareness for Earth Hour 2015 and encourage more & more participation for the cause. The played Flash Mob followed by Nukkad Natak. The script of the Nukkad Natak was designed in such a way that it spread a message of save water, save electricity and save environment. More than 1000 people were impacted by this activity in all the malls. 2. Walkathon: As the part of Earth Hour celebration, a Walkathon was organized on Saturday, 28 March 2015, 0730 – 0830 Hrs at Yeshwant Club, Indore. The objective was to create awareness and encourage people to support Earth Hour. Students from Yuva Chaupals, Yi & CII members, members of Yeshwant Club and many citizen of Indore participated in the event. More than 250 people including Yi members, students from Yi Indore Yuva Chaupals and many citizens of Indore, walked together to create the awareness for the cause. 3. Earth Hour 2015: Yi Indore Chapter organized “Earth Hour 2015”on Saturday, 28 March 2015 from 1930 to 2130 Hrs at Saket Club Ground, Indore. During the event, a session, a rock band name “Satyug” has performed unplugged songs to entertain the audience. This was followed by a song and Nukkad Natak by students of Yi Yuva Chaupal Acropolis Institute & IPS Academy. Students from all the Yuva Chaupals performed on Mime, Group Dance College. There was a gathering of about 500 people including Yi members, members’ spouse and students from Yi Indore Yuva Chaupals. The event achieved good media coverage throughout the week in leading newspapers of Indore. “Let’s Break the Ice” – Members Bonding Session Saturday, 02 May 2015: Indore Yi Indore Chapter organized a member bonding session “Let’s Break the Ice” on 02 May 2015 at Effotel, Indore. Starting with the introduction, the existing and the new members interacted with each other. Various games and quiz were played to engage the members. A live “Karaoke” was organized to explore the singing talent among the Yi Indore members. Many members joyfully participated and performed on their favourite songs. The get-together was followed by dinner. There were a gathering of around 40 people including members and potential members. Learning Session on “Business Etiquettes” Tuesday, 12 May 2015 : IIM, Indore Yi Indore Chapter organized an learning session on Business Etiquette on Tuesday, 12 May 2015 at IIM Indore. The theme for the session was "The importance of the first meeting and official dress codes". Dr Shweta Kaushal, Faculty members - Indian Institute of Management, Indore was the speaker for the session.
