LARGEST HALFTIME LEAD IN NBA PLAYOFF HISTORY AND CAVS BIGGEST POSTSEASON MARGIN OF VICTORY EVER In the 130-86 win in Game 2 over Boston in the ECF on May 19, the Cavs outscored the Celtics 72-31 in the first half. The 41-point margin was the largest halftime lead in NBA Playoff history. The previous mark was a 40-point halftime lead by the Pistons against the Bullets in a first-round game in 1987. In the first half against Boston, the Cavs shot 26-44 (.591) from the field while limiting the Celtics to just 11-41 (.268) shooting.
