Department of Geology Short Introduction with Brief History of the Department : (Highlights: Year of establishment: Geology general- 1986-87, Geology (Hons) - 1994-95 Student’s activities: apart from classroom tutorial, seminars, publication of magazines, reunion National level achievements of students and faculties: In Govt. Sectors viz. GSI, ONGC, Coal India, NMDC, BARC, Atomic Minerals Directorate, Uranium Corporation of India Ltd., NTPC, and SWID. In Private Sectors viz. Schlumberger, British Gas, Shell, Halliburton, Reliance India, Tata Steel, Bedanta Group, Zindal, HINDALCO, Gammon India, L&T, SRK Consultancy, Development Consultancy etc. In Academic Sector: ISM, Durgapur Govt. College, J. K. College Research activities: faculties past & present have been involved in their respective domain. Teaching learning activities: Teaching through conventional, ICT method along with field work. CAREER counseling: Normally it is an integral approach being adopted by the faculties while teaching. One of the teachers of the dept. is entrusted specially for this job in the college.
