Sadhanpur (Near Polytechnic) Dist: Burdwan Pin-713101 Sub: Administrative Approval of 43 (Forty Three) schemes of check dam construction within 'Jalatirtha' under State Plan (Voted) Budget of Irrigation & Waterways Department, subordinate to DemandNo. 32 as contained in B.P No. 20 during 2015-16. Irrigation & Waterways Department has undertaken a special initiative to implement check dam schemes in Purulia District as a part of the endeavor of the State Government to improve irrigation facilities by way of construction of check dams and other water detention structures on rivers/streams, harnessing the available surface water, in four districts, namely Purulia, Bankura, Birbhum and Paschim Medinipur. The State Finance Department has already opened 3 nos of Head of Accounts, sub-ordinate to major head "4702" under Demand No 32, to implement construction of check dams by this department under 'Jalatirtha', and also released { 24.50 Crore in 2015-16 and principally agreed to further provide { 28.8761 Crore to this department for this purpose. After initial identification of prospective locations of check dams by Water Resource Investigation and Development Department, the nodal department for implementation of 'Jalatirtha', and subsequent survey, investigation, design and estimate by this department, Detailed Project Report of 35 nos of check dam schemes have been prepared and approved by the competent authority and administratively approved at an aggregated cost of { 18.3627 Crore. Now, a further Detailed Project Report of 43 nos of check dam schemes have been prepared and approved by the competent authority for consideration of administrative approval. Now, the undersigned is directed to convey Ad1inistrative Approval for implementations of 43 no of schemes of check dam construction in Purulia Districts within 'Jalatirtha' under State Plan (Voted) Budget of this Department subordinate to Demand No. 32 as contained in B.P No. 20 during 2015-16 as detailed at the Annexure to this Order. The schemes willlbe completed and the expenditure will be incurred in 2015-16. The scheme-wise details of financial phasing of the aforesaid 43 nos. of schemes with name of the executing Divisions and approved cost were enclosed as Annexure to this order. With the implementations of the schemes around 1700 hectare of area could be irrigated. The expenditure to be incurred is chargeable to the Heads of Account '4702-00-101-SP-042-53-V' and '4702-00-789-SP-036-53-V' under State Plan Budget of this Department subordinate to Demand No. 32 as contained in B.P No. 20 as mentioned against each of the 43 nos. of schemes under Column 7 of the Annexure to this Order. This order is being issued with the concurrence of the Financial Advisor & Secretary, Irrigation & Waterways Department vide his U.O. No's 180 to 222 dated 18.11.2015 as mentioned against each of the 35 nos. of schemes under Column 8 & 9 of the Annexure to this Order.
