1 On page 2, line 33, after "section" strike ", "military" and 2 insert ": 3 (a) "Military" 4 5 On page 3, line 2, after "grenades," strike "grenade launchers," 6 7 On page 3, after line 3, insert the following: 8 "(b) "Grenade" refers to any explosive grenade designed to injure 9 or kill subjects, such as a fragmentation grenade or anti-tank 10 grenade, or any incendiary grenade designed to produce intense heat or 11 fire. "Grenade" does not include other non-explosive grenades designed 12 to temporarily incapacitate or disorient subjects without causing 13 permanent injury, such as a stun grenade, sting grenade, smoke 14 grenade, tear-gas grenade, or blast ball." 15 16

17 EFFECT: Provides a definition of "grenade" in the context of 18 "military equipment." Specifies that "grenade" refers to any explosive grenade designed to injure or kill subjects, such as a 19 fragmentation grenade or anti-tank grenade, or any incendiary 20 grenade designed to produce intense heat or fire. Further specifies that "grenade" does not include other non-explosive grenades 21 designed to temporarily incapacitate or disorient subjects without 22 causing permanent injury, such as a stun grenade, sting grenade, smoke grenade, tear-gas grenade, or blast ball, thereby providing 23 that the restriction on the acquisition and use of military 24 equipment in the underlying bill does not apply to these types of non-explosive grenades. 25 Removes grenade launchers from the definition of "military 26 equipment," thereby removing the restriction and use of grenade 27 launchers by law enforcement agencies as provided in the underlying bill.
