The PJTSAU, Hyderabad, results revealed that the standard week wise data pertaining to plume moth S. caffer population during Telangana, India kharif 2015-16 revealed that the highest population incidence was recorded with two peaks i.e., once at 47th standard week and second one at 49th standard week with 3.0 and 3.3 larvae per plant, respectively, C Srinivas while during kharif 2016-17 the highest population incidence of S. caffer was observed with two peaks Department of Entomology, i.e. once at 49th standard week and second one at 50th standard week with 2.8 and 3.7 larvae per plant, College of Agriculture, respectively. The life history, external characters of the adult, male and female genitalia, final instar larva, and pupa are described and illustrated. This moth species is widely distributed in the páramo. Larvae cause damage in meristem leaves of frailejones (Espeletia spp., Asteraceae). Identification and continuing studies of this moth are important to determine its potential role in the reported death of numerous frailejones in the area. The hosts, Espeletia grandiflora and E. uribei are some of the keystone species of the páramo ecosytem. Resumen - Se describe Oidaematophorus espeletiae, sp. nov del páramo de Chingaza, Colombia. Se describen e ilustran la historia de vida, caracteres externos del adulto, genitalia de macho y hembra, último instar larval, y pupa. Esta polilla se encuentra ampliamente distribuida en el páramo. Las larvas ocasionan daños en las hojas del meristemo de los frailejones (Espeletia spp., Asteraceae). -

INTRODUCTION Nineteen species of family Pterophoridae has been recorded from Sabah province of Malaysia but four of them remained non-defined (Arenberger, 1995, 1997; Gielis, 2000, 2003; Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich, 2015; Ustjuzhanin et al., 2018). One new for the fauna of Boreneo Island is listed herein and one new species is described and illustrated below. -

Sanchiz (*) RESUMEN Durante el periodo 1978-1994 se han descrito cerca de 2.000 especies animales nue- vas para la ciencia en territorio ibérico-balear. Se presenta como apéndice un listado completo de las especies (1978-1993), ordenadas taxonómicamente, así como de sus referencias bibliográficas. Como tendencias generales en este proceso de inventario de la biodiversidad se aprecia un incremento moderado y sostenido en el número de taxones descritos, junto a una cada vez mayor contribución de los autores españoles. Es cada vez mayor el número de especies publicadas en revistas que aparecen en el Science Citation Index, así como el uso del idioma inglés. La mayoría de los phyla, clases u órdenes mues- tran gran variación en la cantidad de especies descritas cada año, dado el pequeño núme- ro absoluto de publicaciones. Los insectos son claramente el colectivo más estudiado, pero se aprecia una disminución en su importancia relativa, asociada al incremento de estudios en grupos poco conocidos como los nematodos. ABSTRACT Description of new animal species from the Iberian Peninsula and Balearic Islands (1978-1994): Taxonomic trends and systematic list During the period 1978-1994 about 2.000 new animal species have been described in the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands.
