To clear a spot on the 40-man roster, the A’s placed right-handed pitcher Jarrod Parker on the 60-day disabled list with a fractured right medial epicondyle. Triggs made three spring training appearances with Baltimore and had a loss and a 13.50 ERA before he was released on Thursday. He allowed five runs on seven hits and one walk in 3.1 innings while striking out three. The 26-year-old right-hander spent the entire 2015 season at Double-A Bowie where he was 0-2 with a 1.03 ERA and .196 opponents batting average in 43 relief appearances. Triggs converted each of his 17 save opportunities and struck out 70 while walking just 11 in 61.0 innings.
