Available at selected venues and Wellington Chocolate Factory. As a society, we celebrate the innovators who produce art we find enjoyable and stimulating, and 5 Eva Street, Wellington Fringe has a special part to play in this because it's WCF.CO.NZ a launch pad. Fringe is an incubator for innovation. A chance for artists to challenge themselves to create work which incites a response of "wow, that was different", sometimes the audience does; sometimes not. At the time of writing this introduction I can't guess what is in store from Fringe 2018. In the last couple of years I’ve seen genius talent from Mexico and Australia, extreme avant garde from Wellington, mysterious images from Dunedin, and hilarious spoof from Christchurch. We have sent our "Best in Fringe" around the world and have opened doors for talented people from Victoria and Massey Universities, Toi Whakaari and the NZ School of Dance, Whitireia, Weltec, as well as the entirely self taught. As a scan of the programme for Fringe 2018 indicates, even an addict of variety will overdose. Every show is a ticket in the lottery, best to buy several. Tim Brown, Chair Creative Capital Arts Trust 9 A BIT FROM OUR MAYOR Are you ready for a festival that will knock your socks off?
