Telenor and Opera Software extend partnership agreement

Telenor's global Business Units can now adopt even more Opera Software products into their offering, following the signing of a partnership extension agreement.

After several years of successful cooperation, two of Scandinavia's top technology firms, Opera Software and Telenor, announced today an extension to their existing partnership. “Opera Software has been one of our closest partners since we started our cooperation four years ago. Jointly, we have helped millions of Telenor customers getting affordable access to Internet with a good experience. We are now further developing our cooperation to reach more customers with even better experiences,” says Rolv-Erik Spilling, Head of Telenor Digital. “It is exciting to see the two leading Norwegian technology companies working together like this,” says Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software. “The foundation for this partnership was created with Telenor Group four years ago, refreshed last summer with the Rocket Optimizer agreement, and now has been extended to further expand the reach and scope of our strategic cooperation. The complete package that Telenor has selected provides its operators access to the latest in cloud services and Internet innovations, creating a platform for increased online engagement and monetizable digital assets.”

Trifecta of products

With the partnership, Telenor and Opera Software are setting a new standard in smartphone services. Products such as Opera Max, the co-branded Opera Mini web browser and Opera Web Pass are available for roll-out to Telenor subsidiaries globally, enabling a new portfolio of services. Opera products bring better Internet experiences for larger customer groups, and it is a tool that supports Telenor’s ambition to bring Internet to the masses and provide users with accessible and affordable Internet services.
