Acquired in July 2013 by LVMH, Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de will join the Cheval Blanc collection upon its re-opening in October 2014.

The resort completed a 3 year refurbishment by leading British interior designer Bee Osborn in 2013 that saw the renovation of all public areas as well as the villas, suites and rooms (each individually designed) in the property’s inimitable character, combining West Indian charm and the unpretentious style of the south of France. It is this kind of continuous upgrading that has made the property one of the most sought-after spots in the Caribbean since it opened in 1991.

Set on Flamands Beach, widely regarded as the island’s finest, and just 10 minutes from the airport, the Maison consists of 40 spacious rooms, suites and villas, either with panoramic views of Flamands Beach or nestled in the lush gardens.

The Maison is also home to La Case de I’Isle restaurant, a local favorite, which serves an exquisite locally-inspired French cuisine in a dining room with superb ocean views, La Cabane de l’Isle for feet-in-the-sand lunches and the White Bar, with its entertaining weekly fashion shows.

Located in the French West Indies, St Barts covers an area of just eight square miles. Some of the finest French culture has been transferred to this idyllic island: French gastronomy, combined with creole cuisine in a variety of restaurants around the island; local shops offer some of the finest Parisian designers. A hilly island with white sandy beaches, turquoise waters and cooling offshore breezes, it is a true paradise for discerning travellers. In contrast to most Caribbean islands, St Barts has a distinctly French feel with its pace of life, bakeries, and culture.

A wide variety of tropical flowers and plants populate St Barts, although there are no rainforests due to its dry climate. Banana, coconut, latanier and travel palms are most frequently seen throughout the island, and gardens are abundant with bougainvilleas, Ixoras, Birds of Paradise, hibiscus, anturiums, alpinias and laurier.

The aquatic life around St Barts includes lobster, mahi-mahi, barracuda, turtles and rays as well as a variety of multi-colored tropical fish. Migrating whales and dolphins can also be seen in April and May. Terrestrial animals are mostly varieties of lizards and iguanas, however the varied bird life includes frigate birds and pelicans, as well as finches and humming birds.

There are daily flights from all major U.S. and Canadian cities through St. Maarten, and from London to Antigua. The connecting flight to St Barts from St. Maarten can be made with local commercial companies such as St Barts Commuter and . Please note that planes cannot land on the island after sunset (5:30pm to 6:30pm). Other means of transport are also available, including helicopter transfers, a scheduled ferry service or private boats from St. Maarten.
