CONTENT DUCATI: AN INVESTIGATION OF THE SPACE OF INTERFACE AND THE DESIGN OF USER EXPERIENCE. A thesis submitted to Parsons School of Design, a division of the New School University, New York, in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Fine Arts in Design and Technology. Melissa MacQuarrie May 2005 Thesis Faculty: Stephanie Owens, Anezka Sebek Writing Faculty: Barbara Morris Thesis advisor: Karen Sideman Additional advisors: Allen Jones, Dave kanter, Dave Carroll, Katie Salen, Colleen Macklin CONTENT DUCATI: AN INVESTIGATION OF THE SPACE OF INTERFACE AND THE DESIGN OF USER EXPERIENCE. ABSTRACT OF CONCEPT Content Ducati is a web project that investigates the space of interface and the design of user experience via careful analysis of target community needs, lifestyles and habits. The intent of the project is an attempt to bring something new to the table in terms of designing access to information on the web. The goal is developing a system that is intuitive and engaging, that responds to the identity of the user and compels the user to explore. The project uses analysis of Ducati riders as a tool for developing the user experience. It seeks to translate their identity; the affinity for design, their most common attribute. This system uses the design aesthetic of the Ducati motorcycle as a process for delivery of information, so as to provide users with an experience that is unique and engaging, inspiring and entertaining. The engine looks to the information hierarchy of the Ducati website version November 2004, as a base for compression of content. The material is compressed via analysis of target user needs, then repurposed.

Based on S the ABC “Superbikers” television show, which was filmed at Carlsbad Raceway and featured Steve Wise, Eddie Lawson, Danny Chandler, Kent Howerton and a host of dirt track, motocross and road race stars, the sport came into its prime in the early 2000s when the AMA started with its AMA Supermoto Championship. When the X Games jumped on the Supermoto bandwagon, it looked like the sport was on the verge of taking off. The 2000s were the heyday of Supermoto, and it attracted stars like Jeff Ward, Doug Henry, Jeremy McGrath, Travis Pastrana, Chad Reed, Kurt Nicoll, Micky Dymond, Ben Bostrom, Nicky Hayden, Carey Hart, Mike Metzger and more. Red Bull got involved, the pits were packed with semis, and the racing attracted a unique blend of top-tier athletes coming from motocross, road racing and freestyle to face off in the hybrid sport. Some guys were serious and competed in the whole season, while others would just show up for a race here and there.

  • A Perfect Dawn for Creation As LMS Prepares for 2008
THE OFFICIAL MAGAZINE OF DUNLOP MOTORSPORT IN TOUCH [ www.injection.tv ] ISSUE THREE, APRIL 2008 A perfect dawn for Creation as LMS prepares for 2008 Fast fit retailing company HiQ is offering 20 per cent discount on race-inspired Dunlop tyres at stores across the county to co-incide with its three-year title sponsorship of the British Touring Car Championship. The deal was formally announced at the BTCC media day held at Rockingham in March ahead of the season opener at Brands Hatch on March 30. The British Touring Car Championship enjoys the support of Dunlop as the sole tyre supplier, as do major touring car series around the world, including the DTM and the Australian V8 Supercar series. HiQ is in the process of a big expansion around Britain and believes that the BTCC will help to raise the profile as it seeks to open a further 100 stores in the UK. For the BTCC, celebrating its golden anniversary in 2008 with an official entry list featuring 27 cars, the long-term partnerships formed with HiQ and terrestrial television in the UK are key to the success of the series. Jamie Campbell-Walter on his way to third fastest time overall at Paul Ricard BTCC Series director Alan Gow explains: "Stability is vital not only for the championship, but for the competitors. It gives them the opportunity to know Dunlop leads the fight against diesel as what the programme is and they can plan around it and make sure that everything is in place. You don’t need to find out Creation sets third fastest time at Ricard every year what the television package is, for example.

2004 Superbike Smackdown - MotorcycleUSA.com 2004 Superbike Smackdown 3/27/2004 Street-legal Superbikes Go At It On The Road By Kevin Duke Photos by Eric Putter Although 600cc supersport machines continue to be the sales leader among sporting streetbikes, 2004 is undoubtedly the year of the Literbikes. Three exciting fresh-sheet designs have emerged this year to rival the class overlord Suzuki GSX-R1000. But lest you imagine yourself ready for these Superbikes, we'd like to remind you that the least powerful in this musclebound quartet produces 148 horsepower at the rear wheel. This kind of power undoubtedly makes them fun to ride, but it's serious fun. As in: "Don't lose focus with me, twerp, or you'll be showing your insurance card to hospital staff before you can even remember what my redline is!" How serious? Consider the new AMA Superstock class for these Literbikes.
