STONE SOUR to Release HOUSE of GOLD and BONES- Part 2 2013-02-04 13:52 CET STONE SOUR to release HOUSE OF GOLD AND BONES- Part 2 Grammy-nominated rock band Stone Sour will release House of Gold & Bones Pt. 2, the second part of their two album series, House of Gold & Bones, on Roadrunner Records , April 10, 2013. Recorded at Sound Farm Studios just outside of the band's native Des Moines, Iowa with producer David Bottrill (Tool, Muse) at the helm, House of Gold & Bones Pt. 1 of the album has met with rave reviews the world over. The first single from House of Gold & BonesPt. 2, “Do Me A Favor” will be available digitally on February 12, 2013; the video for “Do Me A Favor” will be directed by Phil Mucci whose video for “High On Fire” was named best video of 2012 by Revolver Magazine. The first single from House of Gold & BonesPt. 1, “Absolute Zero”, raced up the rock charts the world over and became a listener favorite. Singer Corey Taylor recently performed at Sundance as part of the Sound City Players, Dave Grohl’s band of musicians assembled to play the original music they created in his directorial debut documentary, Sound City. Sound City recounts the history of the Van Nuys, CA recording studio where Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Neil Young and of course Nirvana and Slipknot recorded so many of their classic works. The film also explores the human element of playing and recording music, as Grohl invites Sound City veterans to create new, original songs using the hallowed Neve 8028 recording console that Grohl purchases from the decommissioned studio in 2011. Adding yet more depth to the bands creativity, music is just one of the mediums used to tell the House of Gold & Bones story, and Taylor recently revealed details of the new project with Dark Horse Comics of the same name which follows, and expands on, the story contained within the albums. With stunning covers from Jason Shawn Alexander (Empty Zone, Batman, Abe Sapien), this limited four-issue series marks Taylor’s debut in the comics genre. On the road since late August with The Prince of Darkness, Stone Sour has made a unique opening act impact with a “huge wall of overwhelming color” made up of multifunctional Elation Professional Paladin™ LED effect lights supplied by Bandit Lites. “I knew coming into this tour that I didn’t have access to LEDs and with Stone Sour I need to have my colors flash quickly,” said Warner, who also serves as the tour’s lighting director/programmer. “I could’ve done a pod of small moving heads, but with the amount of fixtures the Ozzy tour was giving me, who’d see them? So I took the original pod idea that was used on our previous tours and decided to go with a wall of bright LED fixtures that would hold their own to what was given to me by the Ozzy tour.” Warner created four upstage pods of Paladins, versatile hybrid luminaires with zoom that can function as a bright blinder or strobe, powerful wash light, or, because of its multiple pixel zone control, pixel map and eye candy looks.
