College Level Math (CLM) Exam ALL First-Time-in College (freshman) AA-Degree seeking students with a minimum math test score of 440 (SAT), 19 (ACT), 123 (PERT), or 83 (CPT) must take the College Level Math (CLM) portion of the College Placement Test (CPT ) to determine proper math placement. Students are not allowed to register for a math course (nor are they considered a full time student) until they take the CLM. The CLM is given Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 2:00 pm. at Santa Fe College at the Assessment Center located at the Northwest campus in Building G, Room 25 . For CLM study material, go to: http://dept.sfcollege.edu/academicfoundations/assessmentcenter/mugs/clmresources/CLMstudy.pdf, and to http://www.sfcollege.edu/math/ (to look at student resources for practice problems and courses for topic lists). 2. A student may take the CLM at any proctored testing center. The student must, however, complete an online “Request to Take the CLM Off-Campus ” form, which can be found at: http://www.sfcollege.edu/academicfoundations/assessmentcenter/index.php?section=forms 3. Students must make arrangements to have administrating colleges send their test scores to Santa Fe College. Students taking placement tests out of state should make sure the test is from ACCUPLACER! Santa Fe only accepts ACCUPLACER placement test scores. Once a student has taken the CLM, he or she will be informed of the Math courses they are eligible to register for. Students should check with an Academic Advisor to verify the Math courses appropriate for their intended majors. Test-Outs : If you are not eligible for the CLM, or you do not pass the CLM, you may still be eligible to take a Test-Out (Challenge) for your initial placement only. For college-level courses, test-outs are offered in the BOL Testing Center (N216; http://www.sfcollege.edu/bol/ ; call 352-395-5584 to schedule a time). Test-outs are used to help determine proper initial placement and are not an option once a student has completed a math course at Santa Fe. Test-outs can only be taken once per course. No calculators are allowed. An ID must be produced. Students that start a college-level course at SF and then realize they should have tested-out must get special permission from the Math Department Chair (certain conditions apply, and the further into a course, the less likely approved).
