Do not allow anyone to use or operate this light until they have read this manual and have developed a thorough understanding of how this light works. Failure to observe any of the following instructions could result in severe personal injury to light user and bystanders, or cause damage to the light and property. Keep this manual for future reference. Use safety equipment. Users and bystanders should use safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields which comply with current national standards, or when needed, a face shield. Use an ANSI approved dust mask or respirator when working around metal, wood, and chemical dusts and mists. This applies to all persons in the work area. Also use non-skid safety shoes, hardhat, gloves, dust collection systems, and hearing protection when appropriate. Keep bystanders and children out of the work area while operating this light. Do not operate this light if you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medications that could affect your ability to use the light properly. Wear restrictive hair covering to contain long hair. Do not reach over or across running machines. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Non-skid footwear is recommended when working. Do not clean the work light with solvents. Use a mild soap solution if necessary and thoroughly dry before use with a soft, clean, dry cloth. Store in a clean dry area. Electrical Safety Warnings: Electrical safety information, it is important that the following information is read and understood. Ensure that the insulation on all cables and on the appliance is safe before connecting it to the power supply. Regularly inspect power supply cables and plugs for wear or damage and check all connections to ensure that they are secure. Ensure that the voltage rating on the appliance suits the power supply to be used and that the plug is fitted with the correct fuse. DO NOT pull or carry the appliance by the power cable. DO NOT pull the plug from the socket by the cable. DO NOT use worn or damaged cables, plugs or connectors. This product is fitted with a UK or Schuco plug. If the cable or plug is damaged during use, switch off the electricity supply and remove from use. Repairs must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Replace a damaged plug with a UK or Schuco plug. a) Connect the GREEN/YELLOW earth wire to the earth terminal ‘E’. b) Connect the BROWN live wire to the live terminal ‘L’. c) Connect the BLUE neutral wire to the neutral terminal ‘N’. Ensure that the cable outer sheath extends inside the cable restraint and that the restraint is tight. RS recommend that repairs are carried out by a qualified electrician. Optional Accessory: Stand for Work Light (RS article 122-8901) A stand is available for the 60W work light and can be connected as shown: Operating Instructions Release the clip on the base of the light and open the light to the required angle. Connect power cable and plug into power supply Position the floodlight in the area that requires illumination. This LED floodlight develops minimal heat and is not subject to the same restrictions that apply to halogen lamps that become too hot to touch. We do however recommend that the floodlight should not be placed in cramped or restrictive situations and recommend the following minimum distances between the light and any surface/object. ● 500mm minimum between the top of the light and any overhead surface, or objects. ● 200mm between sides of light and end or side walls, surfaces or objects. ● 1 metre minimum between the front of the light and any object to be illuminated. Plug the light into the power supply and press the switch next to power input to turn on, press for 50%, press for 100%, press for off. WARNING! Ensure the light is disconnected from the mains power supply when not in use Ensure that the unit is cool and dry and is stored in a cool, dry, childproof area. Maintenance Clean the casing externally (not the glass) with a moist cloth. DO NOT use solvents or abrasives. If necessary clean the glass with alcohol and a soft cloth. .
