i.4'.. 1 -'> Coaching Staff All-District Players Ron Nischwitz, Head Coach Bob Grote, 1g,75 Ron Nischwitz begins his 10th year as Gary Gabringer, 1977 head coach at Wright State University, Kevin Newnam, 1977 taking over from Don Mohr in 1975 when Dave Newnam, 1977 Mohr decided to concentrate his efforts on Barry Rowland, 1977, 1978 being athletic director. Nischwitz has been Dave Lochner, 1980 named to the NCAA Division II Selection Denny Robinson, 1980 Committee this year as the chairer of the Fred Blair, 1981, 1982, 1983 Central Region advisory committee and Alfredo Batista, 1983 has been selected as a member of the NCAA Baseball Mike Musick, 1983 Rules Committee. A native of Dayton and a graduate of Fairview High School, Nischwitz pitched for two years at Ohio State where he was Wright State in NCAA Action 11-1 as a junior and earned all-America honors. Nischwitz earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree 1975: Won 2, Lost 2, placed 3rd in regional from OSU in 1961 and earned a Master of Business 1976: Won 3, Lost 2, placed 2nd in regional Administration degree from the University of Dayton in 1969. 1977: Won 1, Lost 2, placed 3rd in regional While in pro ball, he worked as a computer designer at NCR 1978: Won 1, Lost 2, placed 3rd in regional during the off-season for several years prior to joining ACB 1980: Won 1, Lost 2, placed 3rd in regional American. After three years with ACB, he purchased the 1983: Won 3, Lost 2, placed 2nd in regional professional collection agency which he still owns and manages in addition to his part-time coaching duties. Since coming to Wright State, "Nisch" ~as ~ui~ed the Collegiate Baseball Ranking Raiders to post-season tournament action m six of the past nine years. His best finishes were in 1976 when WSU lost to 1975: Finished 20th in Division II SIU-Edwardsville in the regional championship, 4-3 in 1O 1976: Finished 12th in Division II innings, and in 1983 when his team lost to Jacksonville State. 1977: Ranked as high as 8th in Division II Both teams went on to finish as the national runnerup in the 1980: Ranked as high as 4th in Division 11 Division II World Series. Nischwitz enjoyed his best season in 1983: Finished 18th in Division II 1980 when the Raiders finished 35-15 for a.700 winning percentage, the highest in WSU's history. Last year's team rebounded from two losing seasons to finish 29-17 against Wright State Facts one of the strongest Division II schedules in the country. Greg Wenclewicz, junior, C-38 Hard worker who has earned two letters playing both third base and catching. · Although he did not hit for a good average last year (. 236), he was a clutch hitter with 13 RBis on 17 hits. Has shown good power both seasons, but needs more consistency at the plate. Probably will start behind the plate in Florida, and then split his time between catching and third base later in the season.
