Sir Harold Evans, a British-American editor whose 70-year career as a hard-driving investigative journalist, magazine founder, book publisher and author made him one of the most influential media figures of his generation. A former editor of Britain's Sunday Times and, at his death, Reuters editor- at-large, Evans put a unique stamp on investigative journalism. Championing causes either overlooked or denied, he and his team uncovered human rights abuses and political scandals, and advocated for clean air policies. One of his most famous investigations exposed the plight of hundreds of British thalidomide children who had never r e c e i v e d a n y compensation for their birth defects. Evans organized a campaign to take on the companies responsible for manufacturing the drug, an effort that eventually won compensation for the families after more than a decade. This webinar is a tribute to this legend. Syed Nazakat Award-winning international journalist, media entrepreneur, founder and editor-in-chief of DataLEADS Syed Nazakat, is an award-winning international journalist, media entrepreneur, founder and editor-in-chief of DataLEADS. He was the first Indian journalist to report from an Al-Qaeda rehabilitation camp in Saudi Arabia and in 2013 he secured unprecedented access to the military detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to report about prison abuse cases. His reporting has resulted in several high-profile officials being forced out of office, triggering the arrest of many others as well as federal criminal and military investigations. The Prem Bhatia Trust elected him India's best political reporter of 2010 “for his scoops and revelations, which include a list of scams that have become familiar names in the political lexicon.” He shared the award with Jyotirmoy Dey, a Mumbai crime reporter who had been shot dead a few weeks earlier. S.O.S e - Voice For Justice - e-news weekly Spreading the light of humanity & freedom Editor: Nagaraja.M.R.. Vol.12..Issue.14........09/04/2016 When a Judge Himself Commits Crime , When a POLICE Himself robs , Murders …. The public servants & the government must be role models in law abiding acts , for others to emulate & follow. if a student makes a mistake it is excusable & can be corrected by the teacher. if the teacher himself makes a mistake , all his students will do the same mistake. if a thief steals , he can be caught , legally punished & reformed . if a police himself commits crime , many thieves go scot-free under his patronage. even if a police , public servant commits a crime , he can be legally prosecuted & justice can be sought by the aggrieved. just think , if a judge himself, that too of apex court of the land himself commits crime - violations of RTI Act , constitutional rights & human rights of public and obstructs the public from performing their constitutional fundamental duties , what happens ? it gives a booster dose to the rich & mighty , those in power , criminals in public service to commit more crimes. Chief Justice of India , Supreme Court of India is the last savior for public who are suffering injustices at the hands of powers that be , whose fundamental rights & human rights are violated. But inspite of repeated appeal for justice CJI & SUPREME COURT OF INDIA turned their blind eye , became deaf , mute spectator. CJI , SCI let down the suffering masses. CJI & SCI are hand in league with criminals and are operating cunningly without leaving a trace of evidence.
