The 9th Global CCCOWE Congress on World Evangelisation (22.-26.8.2016)

We welcomed a new full time missionary from Hong Kong to our SEND Hakka Team in Gong Guan in May. In the moment she gets her Mandarin Chinese polished in a Christian Language School in Taichung. The SEND booth at the Youth Missions Conference in Zhongli, Dear Friends, (1600 students), 14&15 July.

The Chinese autumn festival is ringing in shortly. We are happy, that the paralyzing heat of the summer is soon behind us.

24 years of ministry in Taiwan crowned by the CCCOWE Taipei- Declaration: The congress of the Chinese Lausanne Movement (Chinese Christian Coordination of World ), concluded these days, 1161 participants, with the „Taipei Declaration“. Alain was one of the few invited exhibitors represented with his team for TE&B (Taiwan Expatriate & Beyond). The topic: “The Glory and Mission of God – Becoming radical disciples of Christ.” This main topic was deeply connected with the “2020 Vision” (Discipleship-Driven Cross-Cultural Mission). Indeed after 40 year’s history cross-cultural discipleship was discussed for the first time in this context. This is supported by our own experience. When we arrived in Taiwan in 1992, mission in contrast to evangelism was not a concern for most pastors. The passage “…until the ends of the earth…” …”(Ac1:8) in reality seemed to only be applied for the Chinese in “diaspora”, those living abroad. On August 26 this perception was revised, practically buried, contempo- raneous with our 24 years of ministry in Taiwan, and the “CCCOWE Taipei Declaration” solidly accepted. What an uplifting moment for us!!! Alain would say:“ All these years we were praying and living for this moment!” News from the Hakka in Taiwan: From September 20 until May 2017 Alain will teach two mission courses 1 at the Theological Hakka Seminary. He is lucky to be able to teach in Mandarin and doesn’t have to learn 1 the Hakka language first. The Seminary recently moved from their old stifling rooms to a newly built facility in Longtan, which is about one hour drive by car and south east from our home. 2016-Hau-II-169-FL ...and what God does in the Hakka Homeland areas of Taiwan

The curriculum follows the guidelines of ATA (Asia Theological Association), and aims to gain accreditation. We are thankful to support the Hakka through teaching and training and preparing them to serve among the Hakka and in countries, which still are closed for the gospel.
