WILLIAM SPACK, AIA Principal: Principal-in-Charge Bill Spack, AIA is a partner of cox graae + spack architects and has been with the firm (formerly KressCox Associates) since 1986. He has over 38 years of experience that includes local and national award-winning architectural design. Mr. Spack is well versed in project leadership with particular emphasis on creating architecture in support of multi- faceted education programs. STEPHENSON, ASLA PRINCIPAL Brian J. Stephenson is a registered landscape architect and planning professional with comprehensive experience in site planning and landscape architecture for public, private, and institutional clients. In practice in metropolitan Washington, DC since 1983, Mr. Stephenson is known for design excellence and client service. As director of the firm=s design and management team, Mr. Stephenson is responsible for the overall progress and quality of each project. His reputation for excellence in design has been recognized with national and local awards from the U.S. Government, state government, and professional associations, including a national Honor Award from the General Services Administration in their design honors program. Comprehensive planning, design, and implementation of landscape architectural and site development projects are the focus of his professional practice. His work includes the full range of site services, from programming and master planning to specific development and implementation of individual site projects. Mr. Stephenson understands the importance of site development to the cultural fabric of a community, and is skilled at identifying the unique qualities of each community and incorporating these qualities into the development of site and landscape plans. Mr. Stephenson also brings a strong pragmatic attitude into the development of site and landscape plans, knowing that the ultimate goal of every worthwhile plan is eventual implementation. Mr. Stephenson=s experience includes management of the public review processes for projects in the Washington, DC area . He has successfully represented client=s interests to the Montgomery County Board of Appeals, the Montgomery County Historic Preservation Commission, the Montgomery County Planning Board, the US Commission of Fine Arts, the National Capital Planning Commission, the DC Historic Preservation Review Board, and the DC Board of Zoning Adjustment. Mr. Stephenson has a personal interest and special expertise with site development for schools in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. His work on pre-school, elementary school, middle school, and high school campus= shows a keen regard for the programmatic requirements of each age group, as well as an understanding of how each school fits within its surrounding community.
