Far more than Europe’s leading trade show for nature’s treasures – the “Munich Show – Mineralientage München” each presents world renowned special exhibits

For the very first time the public can admire at this year’s show Europe’s most important, original discoveries as well as over 200 of the most precious and legendary minerals of the old continent. Such a high concentration of nature’s treasures has never been united before. In order for this to happen leading natural history museums like that of London, Paris and Vienna as well as the famous private collectors cooperate in unprecedented ways to open their vaults exclusively at the Munich Show 2011.

The “European Classics” special exhibit presents for the first time Europe’s most valuable mineralogical and paleontological treasures. From October 28 to 30 visitors are able to admire over 200 of the most valuable minerals as well as the most important original discoveries of Europe, such as the Europasaurus, , and Balaur. A truly unique and powerful display of “European Beauties”. Additionally very important findings have recently surfaced. A third special exhibit examines the myth and history of one of the most famous diamonds in the world and crown jewel of the Bavarian Kings: the blue Wittelsbach-Graff.

Behind this unique project lies the unparalleled cooperation of leading natural history museums and international private collectors. This comes as a strong and precious sign of solidarity amidst growing tensions in Europe. The special exhibits at the Munich Show bring together each year international scientists, custodians of museums with private collectors and patrons of the arts. Both the Mayor of the City of Munich, Dr. Ude, as well as the Bavarian State Minister of Science, Research and Arts, Dr. Heubisch, are but two of the Munich Show’s prominent backers.

The Munich Show counts over 1’250 exhibitors from 56 countries presenting minerals, , gemstones and jewellery-. Trade visitors and a broad public can see the complete spectrum of beautiful and precious stones in the four “worlds” „Gem world “, „ Mineral world “, „ Stone world “ and „Fossil world ”.
