This temple is one of the most sacred temples for Hindus and for worshippers of Lord Shiva. The Jyotirlinga of the temple is also one of the most revered Jyotirlingas in India. Sankat Mochan Temple Varanasi Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya built the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple in the early 1900s. The temple is located by the River Assi. The festival of Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated every year with great enthusiasm, and a special parade called Shobha Yatra is organized every year from Durga Kund to the Sankat Mochan Temple. Bharat Mata Temple Varanasi Durga Mata Temple is also known as the Monkey Temple because of the presence of hundreds of monkeys in the temple. This beautiful temple dedicated to Goddess Durga is situated at the famous Durga Kund. Banaras Hindu University Varanasi Madan Mohan Malviya established Banaras Hindu University in 1916. Other than being a premier institute of higher studies in India, Banaras Hindu University is also visited by hundreds of tourists every day. The New Vishwanath temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and looks picturesque standing on the banks of River Ganga. All woody species with a minimum circumference of 10 cm at 1.37 m height were surveyed in forty-five 20×50 m plots distributed over 5 sites in the TDF of Vindhyan highlands, India. Cluster analysis identified two distinct groups of plots. Group 1 plots had higher soil moisture content (SMC), clay, organic C, total N, total P, and light attenuation than group 2 plots. A total of 48 native species belonging to 25 families were encountered in the sampled area. High eigenvalues for the first two Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA) axes indicated the occurrence of species in distinct groups, and significant correlations of the axes with environmental variables indicated the effect of these variables on species grouping.
