World of Chocolate Hundreds of people attended AIDS Foundation of Chicago’s annual World of Chocolate, a sweet event (literally) that commemorates World AIDS Day. This event was different in at least a couple ways this year. It was held on a different day (Dec. 6, a Friday—as opposed to the usual Thursday) and at another venue (The Great Hall at Union Station, as opposed to the Hilton Chi- cago). Among other things, the event featured dozens of chocolatiers with wares that local celebrity judges and the dining public rated. The winners were as follows: —Best Sweet Sample: Peninsula Hotel —Best Savory Sample: Mercat a la planxa —Best Libation: prasino LaGrange —Top Overall – Business Class I (small businesses): Uptown Brownie —Top Overall – Business Class II (large businesses): Chicago365 Hospitality —People’s Choice Award: Terry’s Toffee For more about AIDS Foundation of Chicago, see www.aidschicago.org. 8 Dec. 11, 2013 WINDY CITY TIMES Wilton D.
