Today the building houses the 2 Visitor Centre at Akershus fortress. 30 29 2 THE CARP POND 1 The Carp Pond is part of a big pond that was divided into two when the foun- 31 dations of the northern curtain wall were laid in 1592. The other part served as 4 a moat outside the northern curtain wall. The stream originally came from the 3 area around Christiania Square and ran through this pond and down to Munk’s Pond. The Carp Pond was filled in after the mid-19th century, but recreated in the 1960s. University of Warwick Art Collection Annual Report 2015-16 Mission Art is intrinsic to the University of Warwick - to its physical, social and academic environment. The original purpose of the Art Collection was the display of works of art in the public spaces of the University. The Art Collection is not displayed in a museum or gallery; the majority of items are on display across the University campus and its other sites. They function as open texts, offering a variety of readings to successive generations of students, staff and visitors. It demonstrates the University’s support of contemporary culture and, in particular, of young professionals working at the leading edge of their field. The education and interpretation programmes that support the collection are open to everyone and contribute to lifelong learning as well as to the work of departments on campus and schools and colleges across the region. Aim To manage and develop the University of Warwick Art Collection to create a significant resource of contemporary art for the campus and for the region. Objectives 1. To contribute to the creation of a distinctive and stimulating campus environment through the development of displays, interpretation and opportunities for meaningful engagement with works of art. 2. To sustain an exceptional teaching, learning and research experience for campus departments, schools and colleges, visitors and audiences through the development of opportunities to interrogate, experience and work with art objects and with artists. 3. If you already have a passport, the rule of thumb is that it should expire at least 6 months after your planned trip. That means that, for our Norway adventure, your current passport should expire during or after January, 2020. Cost for your new adult passport (or to replace one that is lost or stolen) is $110 application fee plus $35 as an execution fee. You must apply in person and be prepared to provide Completed form DS-11 Proof of citizenship (a certified copy of a birth certificate or expired passport will do) and a photocopy of that proof Current ID (valid driver’s license, previous passport, military ID) and a photocopy of the ID Passport photo (2” X 2”, taken in the last 6 months, do not wear glasses) For children under 16, a certified copy of a birth certificate, adoption record, or court decreed custody order must be furnished showing that the adult applicant has a parental right to do so. Renewals of current valid passports must be submitted by mail. Along with form DS- 82, a new passport photo and your current passport must be included with your application. Cost is $110 (no execution fee required). Allow at least 4-6 weeks for your passport application/renewal to be processed. -
