Chief Minister FINAL LINE-UP FOR BUMPER BASSINTHEGRASS 04 May 2014 Electro-rock kings, Pendulum DJs, The Living End, RÜFÜS, The Amity Affliction, Vance Joy, Peking Duk, Owl Eyes, Justice Crew, Jackie Onassis and ALLDAY make-up the final international and Australian line up for BASSINTHEGRASS 2014. “There’s something for everyone at this year’s BASSINTHEGRASS. Whether you’re a fan of indie-pop, rock, house or hip hop there’s an act in this program just for you,” Chief Minister Adam Giles said. “I’m thrilled we’ve been able to draw such an exciting program of acts this year with a great mix of local, national and international artists set to rock the Darwin Amphitheatre on May 24.” Pendulum DJ Set have enjoyed huge international success over the past decade with sold out shows and massive record sales around the world. Multi award winning Australian punk rock band The Living End are back in Darwin to wow audiences after more than half a decade away. BASSINTHEGRASS fans asked for them and Sydney indie dance trio RÜFÜS will be ‘in the house’ on May 24. They blew crowds away at this year’s Falls and Big Day Out festivals and scored three songs in the Hottest 100. They’ll be joining Triple J Hottest 100 #1 Vance Joy and BASSINTHEGRASS returnees The Amity Affliction who are back by popular demand performing an evening time slot. Darwin rock band Bear Essence, Alice Springs hip hop act SkankMC and Top End DJ/MC UK have all been chosen as feature local acts for this year’s event. Local school bands and young performers have also been vying for a place on the BASSINTHEGRASS stage through the annual Battle of the School Bands competition. “I’d like to congratulate Alice Springs Soloist Michael Lindsey and Darwin high school band OK Kaleidoscope on winning a place in the line-up. It’s a great opportunity for them to rub shoulders with visiting acts and learn from some of the best in the business,” Mr Giles said “Tickets for the 12 hour, all-ages music festival are selling fast so get yours soon. Entry is $70 and includes free travel to the event on the Darwinbus network, as well as free bottles of water. “The Giles Government is thrilled to support this hugely popular festival with a grant of $350,000.
