ABSTRACT AsurveyofwasconductedfortheWilliamsburg,Virginia,area,resultinginachecklistof141species (in60genera),52ofwhicharepotentialstaterecords. Noteworthy collections include one globally rare species ( louisianae ), and several species found outside of their typical ranges (subtropical/tropical species: Amandinea submontana , Haematomma persoonii , Leiorreuma explicans, Leiorreuma sericeum , and Parmotrema praesorediosum ; species disjunct from the north: Xanthomendoza fallax ; western species: Bacidia helicospora , , Punctelia missouriensis ,and Rinodina papillata ).Theinfluenceofuniquemicrohabitats (e.g.,calcareousravinesandhistoricbrickwalls)onthelocallichenfloraisdiscussed.
